ONE VOICE, in association with BHS; NFDOG; NFEA; FUG; hereby PETITION All Members of The New Forest National Park Authority, South Efford House, Milford Road, Everton, Lymington SO41 0JD as follows: - We, the undersigned, are concerned at the proposal that the revised Park Plan will only be available one week prior to the authority meeting scheduled for 29 October 09 at which it is due to be approved. Due to the very considerable public concern about its contents, and the problematic consultation process since its original launch, we wish to request that the revised Plan is made available online at least 14 days prior to the meeting, to enable those most affected by it to consider its contents, and respond prior to the meeting of 29 October 09

The ONE VOICE Group was established after a general public meeting held on 29 September 2008, which was attended by over 120 New Forest residents concerned by the proposed policies contained in the New Forest National Park Authority’s Draft Consultation Documents, namely the Park Plan Consultation Draft and the Draft Recreation Management Strategy (RMS). The points raised at the meeting were many and varied but one major concern was that the NPA had to date shown a perceived unwillingness to engage with the public on such a major plan. Thereafter, the group resolved to empower the general public (by providing relevant and factual information) to lobby the NPA to accommodate a series of open and transparent public meetings.
