Your Excellency,
Millions of Chinese citizens are pressured and even forced to undergo surgical sterilisation and abortion because of the One Child Policy.
This is a shocking violation of human dignity and human rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 16 (1) affirms that "Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family." Forcing people to forgo the possibility of having further children is an intolerable intrusion into their private lives and an assault on their bodily and spiritual integrity.
Furthermore, the One Child Policy is leading to serious economic problems for the People's Republic of China. Widespread abortion and infanticide of girls lead to an imbalance in the sex ratio at birth which means that tens of millions of young men will never find wives. And China's population is ageing so fast that the next generation will be crushed under the burden of caring for their elders.
On behalf of all those men, women and children whose dignity is assaulted and who suffer under this inhumane policy we, the undersigned, urgently petition you to abandon the One Child Policy and restore to all citizens of China their rightful freedom to found families and to decide for themselves the number and spacing of their children.

This is just evil. How can a gov control something as basic as starting a family?
The gender imbalance alone is gonna cause so many problems for the next generation. Wake up China.
Absolutely heartbreaking to think of the women suffering because of this law. Time to change it.
Human rights should be universal. Let people live their lives!!
Whatever happened to basic freedom? This policy has destroyed so many families and for what? Ridiculous.
