The district finally agreed to restore the single lunch period for all our high schools. It has been an exhausting road to reach this point but I am relieved we secured this time back for our students and teachers. We should keep an eye on the rollout to ensure it …
The shift from one lunch to two is a district wide issue. Having one lunch time for all Ann Arbor schools improves the lives of both students and teachers by creating a time for:
Club meetings
Getting academic help
Meeting with teachers
Making up tests
Music rehearsals
Social lives
Unifying all classes
Please only sign if you are a student, teacher, or concerned parent at an Ann Arbor high school. Thank you :)
The district administrators have yet to respond to my inquiries regarding the lunch schedule. I spend my evenings reading your messages about how disjointed our school days feel and I am staying focused on the end goal despite the lack of official communication.

The exhaustion of this fight is starting to settle in but we are inching toward two hundred and fifty signatures. I am asking you to get this in front of just one more person who cares about our schedule before the momentum stalls out.

This way it'd be a lot easier for the students to make friends, but also get help with home work they don't understand, and also have chances to make up tests if the students don't have time to re-take tests after school. Its a great idea in my opinion.

I hate two lunches. It's lowering my self esteem. Especially, since I'm a freshman and none of my friends have the same lunch as I do. I eat in the guys bathroom. I'm really lonely. :(

Last year, students went to school with the knowledge that there was always time to meet with teachers, clubs, or peers during the shared lunch period. This year, the split lunches will create confusion and scheduling issues for everyone.

The split lunch idea is not beneficial to this organization. The student body firmly believes that the combination of lunch periods between all the grade levels will allow for a greater collaborative environment and will enable the students to collaborate between the grade levels and thus increase the educative environment of our school.

Signing because my daughter strongly feels this is not a good system. She and her friends were able to meet up for clubs and to finish homework etc. This would disruptive

I've had to drop my seventh hour due to the conflicts clubs have created now that we can't have meetings during lunch. I really hope this petition is considered!!!
