900 has been in business for 20 years and has provided a warm and welcoming environment for many members of the Manhattan Beach community.
I have been a 900 member for over 10 years and have watched Dave and his great staff continually improve all aspects of 900 including the fantastic atmosphere it offers. I have lived and VOTED in Manhattan Beach for 32 years.
This change will keep 900 on par with other entertainment establishments in the general area. Dave and the patrons will ensure the addition of additional operating time will be positive for the community, the employees and the patrons.

I have been a member since 1998, before I had kids. Now I have one boy in college and another graduating in June from Mira Costa High School. Our family has grown up in the 900 club. As resident on MB I feel the club deserves to have extended hours. One extra hour on Thursday for a club that has been a staple of this town for two decades seems more than reasonable and the right thing to do. Thank you for supporting this petition.

Every town needs establishments that cater to locals and the like minded. 900 provides that to The South Bay without the fanfare of other “new restaurants/clubs” and at the same time, kept a low profile. Dave and the 900 staff have invested time and effort to be a good business citizen and the club has, at minimum, earned an opportunity to reclaim the opening hours that it enjoyed many years ago!

I have lived in MB and been a member at the 900 Club for 17 years. This is one of the few places in MB that you can always get in without a reservation and has great food and atmosphere. Dave goes over and above to help out the community and genuinely cares about it's members. It does not seem fair that the 900 Club should be given a different set of rules than the rest of the bars in town.

I have been a member of 900 Club for years. It's the perfect place to have a family dinner with the kids and a safe place to spend time with friends watching a game or two and have a few beers and a couple of games of pool!! You won't find nicer more respectful people and its silly the have to close so early. I totally support Dave and the 900 club family and ask for your support too!

We are probably the closest neighbor and member of 900 Club. My wife and I have lived across the street for the last 13 years while raising our family (1, 4, 20 years old). 900 Club is a distinguished establishment that serves as a place for members to meet for business and social gatherings, and also host philanthropic events. On a personal level, our son was on the Mira Costa Rugby Team, and 900 Club was the only business willing to host a fundraiser BBQ to help the team go to Nationals. They are truly a huge part of this community, and continue to make contributions to several different organizations. As for the Downstairs Bar, the actual bar has been there for a long time, but after coming under the same ownership as 900 Club, it has made vast improvements to become a better establishment for guests, and surrounding neighbors. So, asking for 1 hour longer on Thursdays for both places at 900 Manhattan Ave is only fair when some of their competitors are not even close to same type of establishment and can stay open until 2 am. Let’s have a fair playing field and hold all bars and restaurants to the same standards.

I'm fortunate to be a 12 year voting, homeowner in MB and a long time member of the 900 club. This club should have the opportunity to have similar hours of operation of other MB establishments-this is only fair. Dave runs a terrific establishment. 900 is a local place where we can all relax, eat great food, and have drinks, and share with friends. We love our Manhattan community and it’s members are local business owners, professionals, entrepreneurs, and real estate professionals. It all started when our preschool had a party on a Sunday afternoon, later it was hanging out with local sports fans supporting the kings, dodgers, clippers and lakers. Later my daughter met a few kings players at dinner. Always a great place to entertain guests and family. An extra hour of conversation and good cheer until 1am on a Thursday would allow us to be on par with other surrounding establishments and ease into the upcoming weekend. Thank you. Mike

As a member of 900 Manhattan since 2013, I often wonder why neighboring establishments stay open til 2pm. This would discount the fact, that the 900 Manhattan club is a safer, more responsible and more social environment than the what is open in Downtown MB.
As a community member that moved to our unique community in 1978, with much family and friends in the South Bay - based upon the facts, it’s perplexing the governance and judgement that supported the exclusionary decision in 1995.
As a father/husband/son/brother in 2018, I personally would be able to enjoy the extra hour maybe a handful of times in a times a year - I wholeheartedly recommend to our local government to simplify governance and adopt standard operating hours in our beloved downtown village.

900 was the first place in Manhattan beach that welcomed me when I moved into the area four years ago. I now live less than two blocks away and fully support the extended hours as the club is a valuable institution for all throughout the community.

This establishment is 10,000 time more sensitive to the community then most of the downtown businesses. The staff are all long time employees , not indicative of a business that doesn’t take care of employees. They also contribute to local charities in the community.
We need more places like this ... I’ve been member for over 18 years.
