17% Tax Increase on the November Ballot

On May 24th the Broward County Commission approved and placed a one cent increase to the existing six cent sales tax as well as a .75 cent addition to the sales tax. If both these initiatives pass we will pay 7.75 cents for each dollar we spend on tangible personal property. The current rate is 6%.

This proposed tax increases are wrong for Broward County and should be soundly defeated.

I do not support the proposed either tax increase and will work from now until the election to make sure it does not pass. If the voters decide to approve the tax increases and also elect me to the county commission, I will hold every agency accountable for properly spending these taxes coming from hardworking people.
