Allegheny College owes this to its black students of various intersection who deserve to feel fostered and brought up just as the white students inherently are. Showing this commitment to the black students on campus is a part of that. Be a part of the bend towards justice.

I graduated in 2009 and I am disappointed in the College's mealymouthed statement on George Floyd's death. Black lives matter, and the College needs to put real action and power behind those words. We are a leader in so many other ways--it shows the racist underbelly of this institution when we fail so hard when it comes to racial issues. I stand behind all the statements in this letter.

Class of 2016. I had an amazing undergraduate experience here. I love Allegheny and want to see us continue growing as a leading institution. In order to do so, we must continue to do the hard work of examining ourselves, confronting racism and dismantling systems fueled by white supremacy. In order to do so, we must call out racism directly.
