I have heard a lot about this authoritarian and he needs to go now. If this petition doesn't work the way it worked against Ojengbede when he was elected as UI Vice Chancellor over a decade ago, then it means this country has deteriorated beyond repairs.

The VC is combatively inept and fundamentally disconnected from reality in an ambience of intellection. He should be weaned of his delusion. He is a confused megalomaniac.

The arrogant and draconian attitude of the Vice Chancellor must be checked before he set our dear University on Fire. Stifling students agency by persecuting student leaders is not a good way to raise self-reliant future leaders of Nigeria. Olayinka has demonstrated that he is not fit for the position of Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan; I therefore join my voice with those calling for his removal.

A foremost university in Nigeria like University of Ibadan should bury her head in shame if it can provide common student ID cards. The benefit of student ID cards is too numerous to mention from opening a bank account to getting your desired scholarship. And while I was in UI, the electricity stability especially during exams period was unfortunately abysmal.Maybe it's due to lack of funds from the FG, but for God's sake with our over 60years of existence, we should have by now have a very cordial relationship with our alumni association to make UI function as a truly modern 21st century university.Nobody will graduate from a school and not want to contribute his quota back, in fact such alumni fees are the ones eager to be paid by donors,of course after our religious tithes(The pastors money take precedence over everything). God help us all

Posterity will NEVER forgive me if I fail to contribute my quota as an alumnus of Nigeria's premier in restoring her fading glory.

It is quite commending that people are signing the petition. It is a good development. I didn't create this petition but we must all be united against any forces that are draconian and anti-student. however, we must be careful of enemies within. one major bane of African development is the the fact that when someone rises to speak out against some elements would rise as well to counter the fellow or discourage the voice. At this moment, there is the manifestation of such on the Students' Union Group of the University of Ibadan as a past student union president, Tokunbo Salako alongside the incumbent Students' Union President, Aliyu Olateju who had been reported to be lukewarm about the whole students' struggle, had hijacked the Union page as an administrator of the group that has formed a formidable front for students to speak up by deleting posts and members of the group whose views are seen too critical or too truthful. I am currently a victim of such as I can no longer log in to the group or view the goings-on. However, the struggle to bring the culprits to book had begun. We know the price of liberty is eternal vigilance. Aluta Continua, Victoria Ascerta. In the first place, Tokunbo Salako ought not to be an Administrator of the Page, but by his crooked means he is now the administrator. The Group was not created by him but by one Izik Moyinoluwa.
