**Reclassification of Oklahoma 911 Dispatchers**

I am a dispatcher in the Kansas City region. I understand the critical role that dispatchers play and I am hopeful that we will be recognized for the duties that we have and have a more protected job classification. Thank you for your service

we are the calm voice in the dark , we are dispatchers. We go above and beyond to save someone's life , we are first responders not secretaries

Texas has already done this and I believe all states should follow this and do the right thing by their telecommunicators!

Serving in Federal law enforcement for 32 years, I definitely see how being a 911 operator is extremely stressful at times and definitely doesn’t categorize as a secretary. Please reclassify them appropriately.

I am in full support of the reclassification of Oklahoma's 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Officers. Every first responder has a vehicle to get them to the scene of the emergency ours just gets us there Frist !

We are first contact. We hear all the others see. You can’t un-hear the cries, the screams, the popping of the shots firing. And more screams the cars crashing. The fire popping while the mother is screaming for her child. You’re not a secretary. They can sleep each night without trying to un-hear the sounds of the 12 hr shift.

All 911 dispatchers should be classified as first responders.

As a dispatcher in Texas, I fully support Oklahoma dispatchers in the endeavor. Dispatchers save lives on a regular basis.

Hopefully the Federal government will follow the states leads and reclassify dispatchers because we are certainly not secretaries.

I support y’all 100%. Some of things you hear can really take a toll on your mental health. You help calm those who call you and in many cases it’s the most traumatic situation of their life. I hope for the best.

From a "glorified secretary " in VA

We, the Dispatchers around the world are not secretaries. We are the first person to help. We are the first ones to hand out reassurances. We are the ones who bring hope to a desperate caller. We ARE 911.

Dispatcher from Iowa we were recently reclassified as first responders. Do the right thing. We are life lines not secretaries.

Dispatchers are professional and should be classified as Public Safety First Responders!

We ARE the 1st of the 1st! Without us officers would have no idea where to go or what’s going on. We hear ALL the details in those first few moments and relay to officers. WE suffer just as the officers if not more at times due to not knowing. ALL DISPATCHERS need to be classified as 1st responders

Please reclassify this truly important group of people from Secretary to First Responders! They give so much of themselves while they do their job, that actually is the catalyst for so many others being able to do theirs! Mental Health support is truly critical to keeping this group of employees healthy, as so often they are pulled into crisis only to find it abruptly end with the end of the phone call - never to know the outcome ir resolution. Thank you!
