Mine burns about 2 quarts ever 600-1000 miles and I'm running full synthetic. Just burning $10 a quart away each time I have to fill it up.

No warning lights!!!!!! and engine burned up a fresh oil change in the matter of one month of easy driving to and from school.

My 2008 wrangler JK Unlimited with 52,200 miles uses a quart+ of oil every 1,000 miles. That is rediculously excessive. My '98 4L Cherokee never used even a quart between 4-5,000 mile oil changes even with 100K miles on it. This 3.8 is a lousy motor in this regard.

I bought new a 2008 JK Unlimited Rubicon, I have 36K miles. Depending on driving conditions, I'm using around 2 quarts of oil every thousand miles.

I have a 2010 JK Unlimited that burns over a quart between oil changes. 75000 miles on Jeep.
I don't care what Chrysler says that's to much.

I am 2nd owner of a 2008 Rubicon with 76000miles , I just bought it from a dealer 3months ago and it is using about 1 quart per 1000miles this was something the dealer sure didn't mention !!

I am the second owner of a 2010 Wrangler Unlimited and was floored when I checked the oil level about 2k miles after an oil change to find that I was 2 qts low. I've owned the Jeep for 18 months and have put 18k miles on it and I'm averaging 1 qt per 1,000 miles. Dealer has given me the standard industry standard response as others have received. I have owned over 40 cars and this is the first to "burn" oil like this. One forgetful moment will surely lead to a blown engine when the engine runs dry. Thanks Chrysler!!

i own 2 jk`s 07 , 08 i used royal purple 5w 20 and both of this 3.8l`s drink 1 plus quart every 1000 miles i`d like my motors fixed !! i change it every 3000 to 3500 .

I have a 2009 4 dr Wrangler 3.8 liter. I am the 1st owner of this vehicle and it has had an excessive oil burning issue since we bought it. almost a quart every 1000. Chrysler did an Oil Consumption test on it and they said it did not warrant for them to do anything. I'll never buy another Chrysler Vehicle again and I tell EVERYONE I MEET about their Wonderful Service and Support of Chrysler Products.

I get my oil changed every 3k miles ... More than half those times I was told my 2011 jeep had NO oil !!
No oil light came on ... I am beyond pissed !!!

The dealerships keep saying normal but I can not see a quart low in 300 miles 4 quarts low in 3000 miles

A local reputable oil change shop said EVERY jeep comes in with virtually no oil on dip stick.

My engine is now not running because a bearing spun due to this issue with oil consumption. The jeep only has 65000 miles on it.

My 2008 Jeep Wrangler uses 1.25 quarts every 1000 miles according to the dealer consumption test. They opened a "star case"... We'll see what response is. Very disappointed!

Ok...Whew. Here goes. So I have a JK 2011 2 door Wrangler (this is my 4th Jeep). I use Mobil one and go about 6000-7000k miles in between oil changes. I've never had a problem, up until about 43k miles. (of course, over the 36k warranty) I've had oil changes and no one ever said I was low on oil. EVER! Well, at that changed. I would check my oil, periodically. At 43k all hell broke loose! I got a knocking sound from the bottom of my engine. After $500 to "look" at my engine at a Jeep dealership, it turns out that I need a new engine! I own a Jeep, not a Bentley. $500 doesn't grow on trees, and get this....They want $9,000 to fix it!!! WTF??? That's half of what the car is worth, and it's a lease, and has to go back in a month! So I called Chrysler, because that is ridiculous! Jeep dealerships rip you off. Just sayin. Well, to make a long story short, back and forth calls, oil change records, 6 1/2 weeks later, I get the same answer, that it's not covered under the 5 year, 100,000 power train warranty. No warning lights, no sounds, nothing to warn me. Am i responsible for this? I think not. Chrysler tells me that it's up to the Jeep dealership. Are you kidding me? I wasted 6 1/2 weeks during the summer, without my Jeep. I missed 4 wheeler vacations, advertising for my business, and they want $9k? What a joke. And It's up to the dealership? Well, Chrysler is going to have a big lawsuit on their hands. This is not over.

My jeep was bought new in March 2007. From the first day it used oil. It was still under warranty. I took it to the dealership for the oil consumption issue . No problems were found. It used over a quart every 3000 miles per their test. Jeep informed me that the engine could use up to a quart per 1000 miles and still be acceptable. I called BS on all of it and walked out.
