Coach Gary is the best track coach I have ever had!!! He's done a lot for me and my fellow track mates. He sees the potential in every athlete and pushes us to excel regardless of whatever event we are training for!!! I would not be the hurdler I am today without Coach Gary's hard work, dedication, motivation, personal experience within the track and field community and most of all his ability to see the best in each one of this Athletes and have the compassion to help his athletes strive to be the best that they can be!!! Bring back Coach Gary!!!! He is a huge part of the OHS Track and Field family and will always be a huge part of our Family!!!

Coach Cameron Gary is the best for the Track and Field program and our children.
It's because of CAMERON GARY my son became a League Champion in the 4x1 & 100. (He's never ran track before.)
This is sad; I feel like the District is single handily try to destroy OHS Track and Field Program.
If he doesn't RETURN neither will my son.

What a devastating blow to the Olympian Track & Field program. This is now my 5th year as a member of the Olympian Track & Field coaching staff and never before has our team been as successful and cohesive as it was under the guidance and leadership of Cameron Gary. Student participation on our team and athletic achievement has been at an ALL TIME high these past two seasons. The common denominator between all of these things being Coach Gary. Most importantly, the Olympian Track & Field Team is now the most tightly knit group of athletes, parents, and coaches this school has ever seen.
On a daily basis, Coach Gary and I would exchange text messages, emails, and share comments/ideas on how we could work to improve our program. From practices to fundraisers to logistics, Coach Gary was invested in improving all aspects of our program. These conversations frequently included group discussions with all of the assistant coaches as well.
Coach Gary, more so than any other coach I have worked with in my 12 seasons of Olympian athletics, is a true student of his sport. He has committed more time, sleepless nights, and even his own personal expenses to perfect his craft. He is without a doubt THE most qualified track & field coach Olympian could ever hope to come across.
Hopefully all of our questions are answered and all wrongs are made right before the season begins. The bottom line is that Olympian Track & Field NEEDS Cameron Gary.

As a coach at Olympian High school for the past 4 years, I can say with complete confidence that this is the worst decision that can be made for this program. Coach Gary is the most knowledgable person I know when it comes to the technique, science and physiology of the sport. Because of this, I, and my fellow coaches, have learned so much from him. Just like every other human being out there, he is not perfect. And again, no one is. Being a head coach takes a lot of work, especially behind the scenes when it comes to things that the athletes do not see (paperwork, organization, meetings, etc). Coach Gary ALWAYS tried his best in this new adjustment, and always asked for our help when he needed it. By firing this individual because of who knows why, the school and district are showing that they do not care what these students- athletes think of him. If he were truly such a horrendous coach, why was this petition started, and why are there so many signatures?

This news came as a Great Shock to me yesterday when my husband Coach Gary sent a message stating that he had been released as Head Coach at Olympian Hiag School...I had no words I couldn't believe it. When Coach Gary accepted the job as Head Coach he did so with great joy, excitement and humility eager to learn the position and be apart of building a successful Track & Field program. Our son attended OHS and Coach Gary always had a desire to coach there we always felt that OHS is a great school, so he really looked forward to being Head Coach. What I admire most about my husband is his tireless dedication to the success of all students in their academics and athletics. I admire that he has remained a student of the sport of Track & Field. Coach Gary is constantly learning, evolving and embracing new skills and techniques that will propel the students to their next best level. It is a labor of love that he dedicates himself to be the best and to give the best and only accept the best from each student...not perfection but their individual best. I applaud Coach Gary for his work ethic and his integrity. The students will be the ones to suffer the most from his removal as Head Coach of OHS Track & Field. On behalf of the Gary family I want to say Thank you all so very much for your Gracious support, and Fearlessly stepping up and doing what is right and fair. I applaud you.

I feel he was a good track coach and knew what he was teaching. He helped my son, who was new to track, be able to make it pretty far and I would hate to see him have to leave olympian.

Coach Gary is an amazing coach. His knowledge, professionalism, & dedication is unmatched. My girls made tremendous progress in a sport they tried for the first time all because of him. What a blow to our track program! He brought the track & field so far in such a short period of time. Bring back Coach Gary! Our track program won't be the same without him.

What a devastating blow to OHS track and field program! Under Coach Gary's tutelage, the program has continued to grow by leaps and bounds (no puns intended). His knowledge base is so extensive and he knows exactly how to bring out the best in his athletes. He is very precise and prescriptive in the way he delivers next steps for success and growth with the students. The student athletes have continue to make growth during coach's two year stint at OHS, with them achieving frequent personal records. This cannot be obtained by just running or jumping. It takes knowledge of the science of the sport as well as a deep knowledge of the anatomical makeup of the human body. His support was not only on the field, but in the classrooms as well. How can our program recover! How horrible is this decision, expecially for our juniors and seniors. My daughter is a senior and this is a very critical year for her. We are hoping on a scholarship to help support her passion for the sport as well as our pockets. Unless Coach has done something that is criminal, which we all know he hasn't, he needs to be brought back immediately! Parents, let's get together and rally behind our beloved coach!
