On September 20, 2010 it was told to the Student Body that water bottles and snacks could no longer be used by the students except in the Cafeteria. Not only is this rule unjust towards the students at Oxford High School, but it is also very dangerous to the student athletes who can easily get cramped up or faint due to dehydration. Underneath is a petition to receive the same rules that we had in prior years at Oxford High School and to revoke this newly enforced rule.

I have been hearing from so many athletes worried about their training lately and your stories really highlight how much this matters. I am honestly just trying to keep up with all the messages coming in because I never imagined this would reach so many people.

My son is on the football team and constantly thirsty. This rule is really stupid and dangerous for the athletes.

The cafeteria is on the other side of the building. We dont have time to run there between classes just for a drink of water.

Just let the kids have water. It isnt hurting anyone. How are they expected to focus in class if they are dehydrated?
