In the last 45 years the Bahamas has been govern by 3 individual Prime Ministers: One for 25 Years (Sir Lynden Pindling) One for 15 (Hubert Ingraham) years and one for 5 years (Perry Christie). This has led what I would humbly deem deem to be a lack of political diversity. The current landscape of Bahamian Politics is in a state of decay. Choices are made for the people without the consent of the people. Leaders are appointed and exalted based on delusions of grandeur. This petition is formulated to bind Bahamians together with one voice showing that we are in need of a change to how leadership of the country and of our political parties is retained: 1. The office of the prime minister can only be held by any given individual for a maximum of 2 terms 2. Party leadership in the Bahamas can only be retained for a maximum of 2 elections The advantages of this effort include: 1. The end of any remnants of what can seem to be a monarchic government. 2. Cultivates a critical thinking environment for our government with regards to political, cultural and societal progress. 3. Forces uninformed voters to actually do research on the candidate 4. Shifts power back to the people in order to make a decision
