Off-leash dog exercise area at Timbrell Park

Please consider this important matter

I have 2 dogs and live close to the park in wolesely st

I regularly run in the park early in the morning (between 5am and 6am). There are very few occasions when I see other users in the park at this time, and even during the day it is sparsely used. Given the size of the area and the lack of use I believe codifying what is currently general practice (i.e. dog owners allowing their dogs to run off leash) within specified hours would be good for the community and ensure the park is able to be enjoyed by more people

Having a larger breed dog such as a Labrador, and living close to Timbrell park it is important that my dog gets a couple of good walks a day. I support Timbrell park to be off leash when there are no sporting events and for there to be restricted area during sporting games.

Allow our dogs to exercise freely

Timbrell Park should be a shared park for the whole community. We’re all rate payers and deserve reasonable access to our community faciliites. Reasonable access for dog walkers is off leash when there are no sporting games/events and off leash restricted to the area outlined in this petition during sporting games. And please make a concerted effort to have sporting teams/organisers clean up after themselves. All too often there are empty water bottles and other litter strewn across the park after their games. Are you going to send Council rangers to monitor and fine them, as you do dog walkers? Do not discriminate, Canada Bay Council.

Timbrell Park is a wonderful area that can be shared by many, 4 legged and two, wonderful idea to create a designated area for all dogs and their companions to play and engage with each other, great for the community. I encourage Council to support this idea.

Please allow Timbrell Park to be an off leash dog exercise area. The Five Dock park enclosed area is inadequate.

Make it leash free at certain hours or location, it should be a shared Park.

Please allow us to eun our dogs there offlead. Even if it’s between certain hours is reasonable.

More dog parks are so needed in the area! As a dog walker battersea is our only option and it’s not big enough and not well maintained enough for all the dogs that need to be walked there.

Yes! True! Its a perfect set up where the kid play area is fenced near to the cafe and the larger park has plenty of space allowing for dogs to be off leash.

Why can't this be a shared space, it has an enclosed kids area which is safe and maybe put up rules for no dogs off leash when sports on field etc. Like King George Park and others. Five Dock Dog Park is too small for medium size and up for exercising dogs!

Timbrell Park should be an off leash park. The enclosed dog park at Five Dock park is pathetic. Too small and just a dust/mud pit. It is woeful. Wake up Canada Bay council!!

Good point - agree we should be asking for the whole park. Its mostly unused and is for the whole community.

I whole heartedly agree with the suggestion of an off-leash dog area in Timbrell Park. Please consider this request for many local dog owners. It would enhance the local community greatly.

Great idea. The other dog park in Five Dock is much too small and is now just dirt and dust. I agree but think that the whole park should be able to be used not just a designated area. Its a large park that is often on weekdays not used at all.
