It is an outrage that a community facility is permitted to increase its rates by 50% from one year to the next.
The 'Better' website cites the sports ground as 'a legacy for the whole community for generations to come'. Charging so much more to certain community groups surely goes against this 'whole community' ethos. GLL's slogan 'Better for everyone' - I don't think so.

i feel that putting up prices will have
a big knock-on affect with the smaller clubs whom are just getting by each season.

Yet again a council sale to a private, although apparently 'not for profit' organisation has rebounded on local taxpayers. At a time when school playing fields are a rarity this is a terrible decision for the health and enjoyment of our children and what a slap in the face for the wonderful volunteers who give up so much of their time. As for the concessionary rates, surely they should apply to all users. Please re-think!!

BWB has provided a wonderful (and free) year's coaching to an enormous amount of kids. How sad that a non-profit organisation now has to reconsider it's plans due to such ridiculous price increases.

BWB is a hugely impressive charitable trust who do amazing work with local kids on and off the field. My son has experienced this first hand.
Concessionary rates at Odd Down Sports ground should be available to all non-profit voluntary community groups, so I am happy to sign this petition to object to the proposed price increases.

In this day and age when we should be encouraging our youngsters to participate in sport and keep fit, why make it unaffordable and expect us to just pay these outrageous increases.

The proposed increase is unreasonable.
It is important that this does not go ahead as the children need the facilities to help with their future fitness

Both my sons use the Odd down grounds. They travel from Fairfield park as they are no similar facilities on the north of the City ie supervised, toilets & safe.
If we need to pay more so be it but only if it's fair and in line with other clubs that use odd down.
It seems as this is another mismanagemed situation that by the powers that be in Bath council? And surely worth subsidising?

banes do very little to actively cater for the need of young people, after school, with funds cut to youth clubs the norm. Providing facilities to these kids at an affordable rate, is surely a no brainer? With the revenue from car parking, rents etc, you only have to look around the city to see the money and investment that is made. Bath is not exactly a poor city, and to should provide be obliged to invest more in these services.

In an era of rapidly increasing obesity and the huge cost to the taxpayer of treating people with the Long Term Conditions that obesity related illness causes any organisation that discourages or effectively prevents participation in sport instead of encouraging it should be ashamed of themselves. a lot of parents won't be able to afford the hike in fees and the fact that favouritism has been shown to a select two is unfair and discriminatory.

Absolutely ridiculous. We as parents struggle enough with finding affordable activities for our children to do. It seems money matters more than a child's wellbeing! I find it sickening.

I think that concessionary rates should be available to all chartered status clubs and charities and that price increases should be kept to a level in line with inflation

Our children join these clubs to play a game they enjoy but learn so many other life lessons like team work and resiliance.
