bruh honestly just let us go. i went last year and it was literally the best experience of high school. dont ruin it for everyone else just bc of a few idiots who messed up.

A group of students are actually going to talk to the principal on Friday about how we can improve this trip. Bad things happened because there were no stipulations on who could go on the trip. Every other school trip has stipulations such as a certain number of detentions or service hours. There never has been anything like that for this particular trip and that's what we are proposing to the principal in our meeting with him. We, as students, actually want it to be stricter. We want to make sure that the right people go for the right reasons. We're not just a bunch of kids who want another opportunity to party. We actually do want to fight against abortion and we don't think it's fair that other people's mistakes can take that away from us.

Why punish the whole group? Just pick better chaperones or make the requirements tougher. Simple as that.

I hope that all parents, faculty and administration take the time to read this. Every year that I was at Owensboro Catholic they sent a group of kids to Washington for the march. And EVERY single year before they went on the trip all I would hear about was the amount of trouble making, partying and inappropriateness that happened the year before. And EVERY time they returned I heard nothing about the actual march or anything about the pro-life movement. All I would hear about is the partying that happened at the hotel, on bus and anywhere in-between.. "X-person snuck over to X-person's room and did X" "Did you that X-person did this with X-person?" It was obnoxious to hear that almost no one actually went on the trip for the right reasons but to party, stay up late and get closer to the opposite sex. I'm sorry Madeleine because you have good intent but this behavior seems to happen every year and last year was the year that someone was caught. It looks bad on the school even when I heard about this as a student. So I applaud the administration. I'm all for the trip when the majority of the students are going for the right reasons and with superb supervision.
