We are asking that the Board of Education of Oceanside, NY, stand in solidarity with the following districts:
Wantagh, West Islip, Farmingdale, Plainedge, Garden City, Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake, East Islip, Elwood, Connetquot, Massapequa, Sachem and Bedford Hills.
These districts have all sent letters to Governor Hochul asking that she does not mandate the Covid-19 vaccine or masks for children in k-12th grades. These letters state how these measures will not prevent/have not prevented covid infections. They ask that these medical choices continue to be left to parents to make, along with their medical professionals.
We are asking that you write a letter to Governor Hochul, similar to what these other districts wrote, as we believe that many parents will pull their children from school with mandates, particularly a mandate of the Covid-19 vaccine. Any parent who wants to mask and vaccinate their children are free to do so, but parents must have the choice to make that decision for their own children.

The Oceanside Board of Education is finally feeling the heat because of your refusal to stay silent. Governor Hochul thinks she can override our parental rights but she clearly underestimated how many of us are ready to fight back. Keep the pressure on these board members until they finally send that letter.

These are decisions that need to be between a family and their doctor, not the government.
To get vaccinated or wear masks should be a choice not forced and children under 18 should not be allowed to make a huge decision like this without parental consent.
We as a community need to have our board of Ed represent us and what we the vast majority want. They are our first level of defense they have to protect our kids.
Protect our greatest treasure our children! Do not force covid vaccines and masks on them! Masks don’t work and only hurt them emotionally and vaccines are harmful to them and unnecessary! If you want to wear a mask it is your choice but as parents and grandparents we need to have that choice also and it should not be taken away from us because of a political agenda! They are our children not yours! Stand up for the children they are our future!
Masks have NEVER been proven to work though the shots have definitely been proven to be anything but safe & effective. Medical freedom & choice is imperative especially for our children who are not at risk!

There is absolutely no reason to mandate this vaccine for our children. First and foremost the vaccine has proven not to work. We see vaccinated people both contracting and dying from Covid. That is the complete opposite of what a vaccination does. Secondly, this virus does not pose a threat to children. Furthermore, there are serious known health risks from getting the vaccine, and unknown long term side-effects., Why would anyone want to impose that on a child. Therefore mandating this vaccine defies logic..
