Our rates are already high and I still can’t get out of my driveway without my car ending up in a donga. I have replaced my car shocks twice at my own expense. I have to have my alignment done often also at my own expense. This would not have needed to be done if our road was fixed correctly and the water off park street was channeled correctly so that our road didn’t wash away every time we get heavy rains. So I don’t want to pay one more extra fee until the issues that I am already paying heavily for are resolved. Thanks

I have no trust in TWK Municipality to use any funds for the benefit of Greyton's infrastructure. They will be misappropriated and embezzled.

I do not consent to raising any new levies on our municipal accounts to cover infrastructure. This will have a negative financial effect on our communities. Where is the money that we currently pay for rates going to ?
NO TO RATES INCREASE !

Not acceptable! We pay the highest Rates and Taxes in TWK with low return. Poor
Road infrastructure, unpredictable and unreliable refuse removal, long electricity cuts outside of load-shedding, poor security NO police station in Greyton. High water costs!!!!

It is imperative in the current environment that the burden on tax payers is kept to a minimum. If the burden becomes unreasonable history shows that revenues will fall.

I am most happy to pay rates to a municipality that administrates these funds efficiently. Any changes should be accompanied by a comprehensive plan, with Check & balances to start a new way forward. Not simply add on charges.

My objection is based upon the following :
(1) - Alarm that TWK's intent to introduce this levy was not publicised via the same medium that they distribute their monthly rates accounts to all ratepayers...ie, email. Instead, via social media platforms, to which many residents and ratepayers do not subscribe. Was this intentional slyness, or a simplistic silly oversight ...which deserves explanation either way ?
(2) - This additional under-cover levy attempt by TWK comes simultaneously with incorrect overcharges being slipped into our TWK monthly accounts, for example, additional "R1,340 for 35 hours after-hours sewage pumping". ?!..when after-hours sewage pumping only occurs due to inadequate plant availability during normal hours !
(3) - Lack of adequate transparency w.r.t. our rates expenditure. TWK could perhaps buy back some goodwill and trust from their ratepayer sponsors, by making public, and easily accessible to all, detailed Income & Expenditure records......which MAY allay the obvious fears and assumptions that the ratepayers of Greyton are being ripped off big time.

The top section of Nerina road is unusable for anything but a 4x4. We have been to council several times requesting that something be done to improve the drainage and the road itself- to no avail.

Our rates are already in the top 5 highest in the country but you would not think so based on current service delivery. We pay more than enough already to completely pay for an efficient and effective service.

I, Klyn Giovann, registered owner of 1 von solms St, Greyton, 7233, hereby strongly object to the additional R5 per levy infrastructure levy as proposed by TWK Municipality. Our rates and service levies are already unaffordably and unacceptably too high, and your service delivery has decreased dramatically and shockingly over the past year.
We have no guarantee that the money will in fact be spent on infrastructure given TWKM's record of financial maladministration.
I note that TWKM collections are already down R29m in just four months, which is totally unacceptable. Do your jobs efficiently and clean up your operation and you will not need to look to already overburdened rate payers to compensate for your failure.

I am totally opposed to this levy. We are already paying extremely high rates with no significant improvement in the infrastructure of Greyton.
