The management team really need to focus upon getting the basics right (like making sure the hot water is working, or getting the windows cleaned) rather than messing about checking fingerprints. It makes you wonder whether it's all part of a plan to reduce the Front Desk Service? But anyway, they need to get their priorities sorted out. And they're SO pleased with themselves... they just haven't grasped that this is not what the residents care about.

Extremely disappoint with the management of this Building. I have not be given any garantees against Identity theft. Further more the short notice is extremely disrespectfull and offensive!!

It is offensively outrageous that the people living in the Landmark whose day-to-day life is impacted by this have not been consulted or in any way involved in this decision! This situation is guaranteed to decrease the appeal of the building for buyers and tenants alike and will definetely bring down the value of this property! Someone must be held responsible for this and Rendall & Rittner are on top of the list!

Does Rendall & Ritter even have the legal right to collect tenant’s fingerprints? Are you opening themselves up to risk of a law suit? What measure do they have in place to ensure fingerprint is secured?

I would like residents to be consulted on whether they want this system for their homes.

I think a fob is good enough. Biometric access system is not necessary.

Isn't there any lawyers among us who can help? I've written to R&R, be coz the cost of this implementation is below certain amount, they do not have to consult leaseholders or tenants before hand. And they kept insisting the fingerprint is converted into string of data which is meaningless should their system be hacked.

this needs proper consultation and assurances of legal safeguards.

Not only is it low security, why would a building management company show any level of competency in keeping the fingerprint data secure?

Very concerned about privacy issues associated with storing my fingerprint information on R&R IT system

Collection of personal data is subject to consent of the individual, unless required by law (e.g. court, police). Every data subject has the right to refuse having their finger scans taken and R&R would be under an obligation to offer alternative means of access.

I am not going to register my finger image with R&R and no one can force me to provide my personal biometric data to a private company

Until it is clarified how the potential inconvenience to our guests will be addressed (when the concierge is not at his desk and this often is the case), there should be further consultation
