I Strongly object to this rezoning application. The sanctity of residential homes and neighbourhoods, for the growing and nurturing of quiet, stable, strong and healthy families, is being eroded by a lack of commitment to developing and expanding the city, or building new cities with new economic zones, when the land and capacity is absolutely available to both local, provincial and national government. Continually seeking to undermine areas by subtly slumifying them ("densification") while claiming cheap housing victories, induces social ills natural to excessive clustering and congesting people, which is intrinsically unnatural and thus, leads to decay and degeneration of the fabric of communities. That is over and above the fact that historical spatial planning superstructures never built for the purpose of densification are now lazily built on with no planning and vision for appropriate technical reconfiguration or redress. Instead of forcing the populous into former spatial planning superstructures, employ Town planning appropriately to expand the productivity margins of the present city bounds, or shape entirely new environments from scratch that raise not only the quality of productivity and fulfilment in work, but that of life.

I strongly object to the re-zoning of this property. Observatory is a residential area and NO PROPERTY in the middle of an established residential area should be re-zoned to Residential 4 for to facilitate the use of the property for ANYTHING OTHER than a private residence.

I do not support this rezoning to residential 4. It will have seriously negative impact on our area as legal home owners.

Most Observatory residents are horrified to see this type of application. Observatory residents have always wanted larger stands with peaceful residential status. Joburg just wants to densify without any consideration of residents wishes.

Rezoning could lead to a downfall of the area as it limits control and increases foot traffic

I live a stone-throw away from this property. This rezoning will spell the end of Observatory as we know it, and its heritage character. I strongly object to such a rezoning and what it implies.
