they rejected the application and the land is staying as it is. i cant thank you enough for sticking with this since the start because we really pulled it off. lets keep an eye on the site just in case but for now we won.

Objection by the local residents to the planning application 2017/91851 of the erection of 94 dwelling on the land between Lady Ann Road & Primrose Hill, Soothill, Batley. To Kirklees Council.

Congestion is a very big issue at junction of Soot Hill Lane and Lady Ann Road. Wild life would also be affected. Crested newts, bats and Kestrels are seen on this land
Serious flooding for years in this area due to the close proximity of the beck. Not to mention the traffic congestion already an issue on Soothill Lane at peak times which already makes it dangerous at the Hick Lane end.
The proposed housing will have a detrimental effect on the surrounding neighbourhood, with inevitable increased traffic, noise and disruption before, during and after construction. Plus irreversible damage to the natural ecosystem that has established itself over many years. I strongly object to the proposed plans for building on this land.
The loss of green open space with protected wildlife and adding to horrendous traffic conditions is not worth 94 houses, plenty of brownfield sites available
As a former resident and my parents still live on Primrose Hill this proposal is not a good idea for the area not just the impact on the land, and the effects of blocking sunlight from properties on Primrose hill it's the effects on traffic in the Soothill area which is struggling at peak times !!
Our daughter lives at Primrose hill and I think the nightmare the trafic is at the moment is bad enough, but the thought of hundreds more would be absolute chaos.
Traffic problems will be horendous

A further 93+ cars to the community is ridiculous, Soothill Lane is already busy especially at peak times, getting from Lady Ann Road to the bottom of Soothill Lane can sometimes take 5-10 minutes and cars are regularly queeing back up past the working mens club, Soothill cannot cope with the traffic it currently has let alone 100's more
