Dont change the street as a small business owner we need the parking for our customers

Although I don't have handicap tags on my car, my husband has cancer and we need to park as close our apartment as we can. He is getting weaker in his walking.

I have lived on 8th Street for 11 years. Turning it in to a one way street is a bad idea, Bikes and motorist share this area with ease.

Eighth Street is not in need of a bike lane. It is wide enough to accommodate two way traffic. Making it a one way street will only restrict the traffic flow. If it’s not broken, ( which it isn’t) don’t fix it!

I like bike lanes, I’m a biker, but I also need to drive both ways on 8th street to get to my hardware store and my daughter’s dance class. I am not convinced we need 8th to be 1-way to protect bikers, I’ve hiked on 8th many times no problem.

DC has become increasingly unfriendly to cars. Some people use cars because they are physically unable to reasonably reach public transit or use bicycles. While Annie's would still be accessible via car, I oppose the one-way proposal because of this unfettered trend toward making the city solely for those who are young and/or ambulatory.

Making a left turn at 7th Street is more difficult, due to more traffic at that spot, and will negatively impact Annie’s, Excel Pilates, and Dance Place.

I have driven thru this area 2 to 4 times everyday since 2003. Because of development, the traffic flow sucks, but I don’t think making 8th one way will help traffic flow enough to offset the problems it will cause to the businesses on 8th St. I value Annie’s, Excel Pilates, and Dance Place more than the one or two minutes shorter drive time the one way street might attain. Why not make 7th street one way? A more residential street sounds safer for bikers, and allows the businesses to remain accessible.

Some of the folks making these decisions don't even live in Washington DC or yhe area in which they are making these decisions. This is happening across the entire city.

I bike this section on the MBT regularly as well as drive down this street. I do not think making it one way north bound will help anything and make it harder for people to get around
