SAY NO to Planning Application for DPD Depot centre at the Moorehouse site on A25

I object!!

I cannot imagine a worse location for a large distribution warehouse. Access is only via the A25 and will result in a large number of heavy and light vehicles crawling through the local villages of Brasted and Westerham to the east or Limpsfield and Oxted to the west. Both the east and west routes are already heavily congested for long periods of the day. When there is a problem with the M25, the A25 becomes grid-locked. The A25 is narrow and the road construction, I suspect, not adequate to absorb the increase in heavy traffic. The surrounding roads are narrow country lanes not designed to take this type of traffic. As well as the increased traffic in the area and the resultant damage to the roads, the increase in air and noise pollution is not compatible with the quiet and healthy environment that the residents of the areas effected expect. The location of this distribution warehouse is not appropriate for the area and the council should ensure that the residents are protected from inappropriate development. The distribution warehouse should be located in an existing industrial zone with direct access to a motorway junction. Not in a quiet residential area in the Green Belt and Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A more appropriate use of the land would be light commercial, science, crafts and possibly offices - Use Class B1.

I agree with all the objections raised by SORE and I object strongly to Planning Application 2016/1036.

This would be a disaster for the area. Thousands more vehicles on the roads - unnecessary noise & pollution.

This has all the implications to ruin an area known for being a country haven but also an already overly busy through road and bypass for a jammed M25. Please don't let this happen

My experience with drivers from this company has always been a nightmare. Total lack of consideration. What a depot full of these vans and drivers would be like is very scary.

Strongly object to the dangerous and adversely life changing conditions that this development would cause.

This application has to be refused as the traffic pollution combined with the impact on the environment will be unacceptable. I drive 19 miles along the A25 to work in Reigate 5 days a week. Due to daycare arrangements I am unable to use public transport even if it was possible. Whenever there are road works (which never occur as advised and rarely say how long they will be there for), a problem with the M25 or an accident my commute takes significantly longer than the usual 60 minutes. The longest it has been is 3 hours each way everyday during road works in the summer. Add to this the issues with the road flooding at Brastead and Sundridge and this is not workable. These roads simply can not cope with an increase in traffic on a regular basis. In all the years I have been driving this route I have not seen a decrease in traffic volume or HGV volume. I think that plans for a Super Depot are horrendous. It an inappropriate development in the wrong place. It would put another 1000 lorries on the A25 between junctions 5 and 6 every day. It will totally blight the area in between. It will be impossible to get anywhere. Why have they chosen this site? Why choose to wreck an area such as this? Super depots such as this one should be situated next to a motorwary service area with direct access to and from a major motorway not in the centre of an area with a village and a small town with a country road in between. The A25 is a country A road not a major trunk road. It is being planned as if Oxted and Westerham did not exist!!. I fail to see how 1000 lorries a day through Westerham is even possible with the tight bend at the end of the A25. Lorries have already driven through the front of some of the buildings on this corner. I doubt that some of the bigger lorries will even be able to pass through. It is a thoughtless, selfish, insensitive,utterly greedy and short-sighted proposal.

I fully object to the Moorhousesite on the A25. The A25 often struggles to cope with traffic anyway and often Westerham is worse. I do the school run in the local area and it will only get worse.
