SAY NO to Planning Application for DPD Depot centre at the Moorehouse site on A25

To much traffic through our villages.

I sign this petition to make my council know that this is not what they were elected to approve. I object on the grounds that it is inappropriate for green belt, our roads and the locale.

I agree with the comments i have read. This is totally inapproriate - I would be shocked if the council approves as it would show they do not represent the local residents. The roads are not fit for this, the environs is not a industrial estate, the location is not suited and the residents don't want it. This is not nimby-ism but a genuine wish to hold the line on the green belt. It is there for a reason - to make planners use brown field locations for development. Green belt are the bread basket and the lungs of this country. Don't cede to planners lobbying.

The A25 cannot handle the proposed 2000 van movements daily from the planned Moorhouse site. Having travelled this road to work for 20 years I have seen the traffic, especially at peak hours grow. It is not uncommon the have queues of traffic stretching from Breasted traffic lights back to Westerham. Where is white van man going to go then !!! THE ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE IS TOTALLY IN ADEQUATE TO SUPPORT THIS APPLICATION.

We object to this application because;- Inappropriate development in the Green Belt due to the scale of the building and type of business. Urbanising impact on the Surrey Hills AONB, and totally out of context with the local setting. All newly built DPD super depots are located in existing industrial zones, not in an AONB! Huge Traffic flows exiting from Moorhouse on the A25. The figures from Roxhill’s traffic consultant via SCC are none less than 948 movements a day vs 961 in last year’s application! On the latter point we would like to bring your attention to a very interesting article from 17/11/15 on the DPD website www.dpd.co.uk/content/about_dpd/press_centre/news.jsp ‘DPD invests 14m in 4 new purpose built super depots’. The latter depots are the four sites that Roxhill are using for comparison with Moorehouse in their planning application, All around 60k sq ft each and capable of handling up to 25,000 parcels a day! The initial parcel through of plot 1 In last year’s application was 7,000 parcels a day, You can come to your own conclusions as to how many more traffic movements on to the A25 above the 948 estimated by Roxhill that this would generate. Jobs, Tandridge is an area of high employment, jobs created would be filled by candidates outside the area. No public transport, site only accessible by car. The new application only discusses noise and pollution on site with no regards to the local environment. From a National Planning Policy Framework this site will create a greater impact on the openness of the Greenbelt. While landscaping is promised to be improved a building of this scale at the foot of the north downs will be very difficult to hide.

Traffic is already appallling on the A25 This extra traffic will just make it horrendous. The road is often at a standstill as it is. Big lorries will need to exit the M25 at juncction 6 and so block the A25. From the other direction roads in Brasted and Westerham are narrow and congested

This would cause huge amounts of traffic on an already busy A25. Also why choose this area of rural natural beauty?

No access on to the M25 makes this an untenable proposal.

An inappropriate development that will have an adverse affect on Oxted and the surrounding areas. Our roads are not built for such huge influxes of traffic, the pollution levels will rise further, noise will increase to unacceptable levels as already stretched roads and an at times congested A25 reach further breaking point. Oxted and Westerham are beautiful areas, why should we let our much loved green belt be abused in such a way for no visible gain to the area. I strongly oppose this development and I hope they see sense and move this to a motorway location in an area that isn't of natural beauty.

The surrounding area cannot cope with the additional traffic, particularly at rush hour times. Additional pollution. No public transport links. Inappropriate development of green belt. Negative impact and potential danger for local schools and residents ignored.

This is not something that is appropriate- the consequences on traffic flow in particular will be disasterous.

A huge commercial development and the nature of the business will result in significant van and lorry and very large lorries on local roads a predominantly,residential Green Belt area.

GT Phillips Flat 18 West Hill Place, West Hill Oxted RH8 9BU. I totally endorse the comments on this petition. It is an entirely inappropriate development for such an are and will seriously create traffic problems to an already very busy road namely the A25.
