We are against the ROXHILL proposal for a depot on A25 at Moorehouse next to the Grasshopper. The site for this scheme should be on a motorway. The A25 is too narrow and it passes through small towns that are not designed for large vehicles at frequent intervals as is needed by the proposer.Signed, GW J. The scale of the proposed depot is totally out of keeping with the locality. The volume of traffic on the single carriageway A25 will cause delays and unwanted pollution. For most users of the A25 there are no alternative routes, and when there is a problem on the M25 (which runs adjacent to the A25), notably at Clackets Lane the whole area can become grid locked for hours, even now. This is not a case of NIMBYISM, the scale of the planned depot is excessive for this area

The A25 is already far too busy for a small town such as Westerham. In some sections where the road is not wide enough for the larger vehicles to get through they will end up mounting the pavement to pass. As a fairly busy residential/tourist/shipping area this certainly is not ideal. I am often pushing a pram which feels very vulnerable, but it's generally unsafe for any pedestrians young or old. Considering the number of listed buildings in this area the council would surely have to revisit it's stance on double glazing as a means to reduce noise should this development proceed. This will obviously impact the look and feel of a treasured conservation area.

We live on the A25 as you enter Westerham. I strongly oppose this application as the traffic currently travelling past my Grade 2 listed house is already at extreme levels. The size of vehicles, the frequency and the level of noise form the road is incredibly high. This would kill the spirit and appeal to visit/buy/shop/relax that so many people love Westerham for. This can not ever happen.

Traffic disruption on the a25 Green Belt area, No Public transport. THE ROAD FROM LIMPSFIELD Chart to the A25 IS VERY NARROW AND WOULD BE RUINED BY COMMERCIAL VANS. THIS IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL AREA.

I echo the concerns raised by others: -the area is already heavily congested (especially during peak times) -the existing infrastructure is barely able to cope with HGV's as it is, let alone adding a further 948 movements a day! -the impact on the local community would be disastrous (any notion of providing local jobs is insignificant) -there would zero benefit to the local area yet huge disadvantages (pollution, safety, congestion, ruining countryside to name but a few) Solution: -find an alternative site in a suitable area which is not going to pose a significant DANGER to other road users/residents/children/local community

Traffic on the A25 is already a nightmare, even worse when the M25 is clogged.

Adding an extra 500 lorries to small roads is going to cause too much conjestion to roads already over used.

this will effect my commute to and from work and also destroy a large amount of archaeological history within the area, although i partially think it is a good idea to have it for the safety of the drivers, why not just allow them to take rests on the laybys and save millions in the process.

I have serious concerns about the extra traffic which will be generated and the increase in pollution levels.

The Northern end of the Redland site is 20 metres from the original Clacket Lane and 300 metres from the Southern end of the M25’s Clacket Lane Motorway Service area. The pre-requisite of any future development of this site should be the provision by the developer(s) of adequate links to the roads serving the car and lorry parking of the Service Area, and upgrading said road links to the M25 as necessary. This would not be prohibitively expensive; the cheapest option would simply provide links to the southern side of the M25; vehicles exit in a westerly orbiting direction and would have arrived from the eastern approach. A successful development of the Redland site would be able to afford a ‘planning gain’ of also providing links to the northern side of the M25 motorway via a new road bridge to supplement the existing Clacket Lane Bridge. This approach would take away ALL the present objections of increased traffic to the A25 and also provide a more efficient direct motorway link for ALL the users of the new facilities on the Redland site, saving them time, fuel and the aggravation of driving through villages and small country towns.

Allowing a business that will generate the huge increase in traffic movements for a long stretch of the A25 before a motorway is reached would be totally inappropriate. It would be harmful to the area in so many ways - from pure traffic congestion to exhaust pollution of the locality. It will have an adverse effect on the health of many people and many schoolchildren. A DPD Depot building should always have direct access to a motorway and not via a number of small towns and villages. The A25 is already very congested. All the future developments at this location should combine to fund a proper road link to the Clacket Lane Motorway Service area roads which are less than a quarter of a mile away, upgrading them as necessary.
