SAY NO to Planning Application for DPD Depot centre at the Moorehouse site on A25

I have already written an objection on the official Tandridge Council site to this application. I can do no more justice to the argument than what I have already said. As an old family from the area we intend to fight this to the end and stop this abuse of the countryside and the land we hold in trust for future generations.

Local roads will not be able to cope with the increase in traffic

The impact on traffic flow would be massive and the Developers have played this down significantly.

The new planning application make little if any material change to the original application. All the issues highlighted by us in the original application of pollution, road congestion, negative impact on the amenity of the local population and massive increase in traffic movements have not been addressed.

Far too much HGV through our village, really do not want more!

I object for all the reasons I objected when the proposal was first submitted last year:A huge increase in commercial traffic will have adverse effect on a) public health to all those using and living along A25. Respiratory illnesses in particular will be aggrevated; b) our heritage: numerous listed buildings lie along the A25 between the proposed site and junction 5 of the M25. Historic villages of Sundridge and Brasted will be badly affected as well as Westerham. Increased commercial traffic will cause damage to the homes because of pollution and as many don't have foundations, potentially to their structure; c) local economy- Westerham has successfully built an economy around its historic buildings, historical connections and independent shops. This has brought visitors into the area, created jobs, and has made Westerham a destination for cyclists, walkers, shoppers and ladies who lunch. Why jeopordise this thriving economy by sanctioning the proposed site? Who wants to sit on a pavement cafe if HGVs are thundering past? d) job creation - I have seen no evidence that local jobs will be created. No doubt jobs will be created through the building of the development and the courier service which will develop, but I have seen no evidence that the jobs will be advertised locally or involve local firms.And finally as a daily user of the A25 travelling from Brasted to Sevenoaks, I can testify that the traffic already is heavy during the morning and evening peaks: sometimes ny joiurney takes 20 mins in the morning: more often it is 40. Additional freight will exacerpate this situation.

The roads are already congested in this area. Increase of pollution caused by thousands more vehicles every year. No public transport so employees must drive to work.

This was turned down last time nothing has changed so should not be allowed this time

The areas and roads surrounding the proposed site are not equipped to handle the material increase in vehicles that will use the roads such as he A25, the London Road, the Croydon Road and those minor roads off them which will surely be used to transport goods in large lorries (eg Hosie Hill, Kent Hatch, Wolf's Lane). Additionally routes to the M25 (via the A22 and Chipstead) are already over crowded during much of the morning and evening rush hours and this additional traffic will significantly increase congestion on these roads making daily commutes for the residents even more challenging.

Our area already suffers from air and noise pollution from Gatwick Airport, the A25 and the M25. The enormous number of extra HGVs on the A25 (which is ill suited for such traffic going in either direction from the Moorhouse site) would only add to this and would have a negative impact on the quality of life for those living in the areas on both sides of the proposed development. The development would be completely inappropriate in an area that is withinboth Green Belt and the Surrey Hills AONB. This is not an industrial zone and the application should quite clearly be rejected. Any potential economic benefit would be completely wiped out by the negative impacts of such a development.

Will cause unnecessary traffic through Brasted

I object to this development due to the detrimental effect the extra traffic will have on an AONB, but more significantly the increase in dangerous pollution from vehicles in areas and villages nearby on the A25 between Oxted and Sevenoaks that already exceed safe levels.

how often do we have to register our objection to this?!

I object to the planning application for a DPD Depot Centre at Moorhouse on A25 because of the unacceptable effects on the green belt, environment and, most importantly, the large scale increase in traffic flows through Oxted and Westerham of package delivery and employees vehicles that will result.

Totally inappropriate development for this area.

Completely inappropriate development in an area of natural beauty and huge increase in traffic movements on already busy roads .

Completely inappropriate size & nature of development in itself in an area of natural beauty & also hugely disruptive traffic movements on an already busy A25 .
