SAY NO to Planning Application for DPD Depot centre at the Moorehouse site on A25

The A25 to the West and East, is the only access to Moorhouse. It is approximately 5 miles in either direction to get onto M25. All traffic must navigate along unsuitable, narrow, single carriageways through small towns.

The impact on the traffic through Westrrham would be catastrophic, adding to our already dangerously high levels of pollution.

Totally unsuitable location for a depot.

A25 in Oxted/Westerham area already overused and inadequate for increased traffic; Westerham, a town of historical and cultural importance will be further incapacitated; location between two motorway junctions entirely unsuitable for depot.

This proposal will add traffic to the local roads which is beyond their capacity, particularly Moorhouse Road which is not suitable for such an increase.

Totally inappropriate location in this area of the green belt; roads are inadequate for the heavy traffic generated; not only by heavy lorries but also by visitors collecting packages by car creating many more traffic movements than in the forecast. Other depots are sited near motorway junctions - this location is mid point between junction 5 and 6 on the M25 and nowhere near an existing industrial zone. According to DPD’s website, the area of South London is already served by their Feltham, Southall and Croydon depots and their Dartford depot also serves South London as well as parts of Kent. There are more appropiate locations already available, for example in the industrial estate in Wrotham, Sevenoaks there are existing new units of more than 40,000 sq ft available (ref. http://acquirepremises.co.uk/industrial-warehouse/845) close to J2a of the M26, ideally located for access to the M20, M26, M25 etc. There are similar and larger units available in Crawley, Gatwick and Croydon on appropriate industrial estates. If this development is given permission, DPD will inevitably plan to run drone deliveries by air (demonstrated in Paris on 4th September 2016). DPDgroup has developed a drone capable of autonomously transporting large parcels within a 20km radius. In time these will only become larger and noisier. In such an area of outstanding beauty and relative tranquility, so close to London, we ask that planning permission for such a project with no socially redeeming features and only for commercial gain should be rejected. An absurd concept for this location. Should be located in a commercial setting with better access to roads.

Completely inappropriate site/location in an AONB that will cause chaos on A25. Should make use of brown field sites. At very least, access should be provided directly onto M25, given proximity.

There must be industrial site that can already house such businesses. Many industrial sites have derelict units and old warehouses no longer being used. Why not reuse instead of creating more!!

I have serious concerns about both the impact on the environment and the amount of traffic, which would seriously impact on my regular journeys.

This area is surrounded by ANOB, there are far too many large vehicles traveling along the A25, through the narrow road at Westerham. Let alone adding to the problem. This would be a complete disaster for the area with the added traffic, not least to mention the pollution aspect to the environment. I strongly object to this application in every form.
