SAY NO to Planning Application for DPD Depot centre at the Moorehouse site on A25

The application would have a significant negative impact on the area adding to the A25 congestion and creating a knock on effect on the surrounding villages as vehicles try to use cuts throughs to avoid the increased traffic on the A25. This would result in increased noise, pollution and decrease the safety of the roads through the local villages.

Im really concerned about the potential increase in traffic on the A25, which is already not fit for purpose as a major A road in this area. the A25 runs through the town of Oxted and is a (too) fast and dangerous road for the local residents to cross. The addition of many HGVs and vans will not only increase traffic volumes on an overcrowded road, but may well lead to more local (resident) traffic on the road because people would potentially be unwilling to walk as an alternative due to the danger of the traffic levels and speed.. My last point is the speed at which traffic travels through Oxted- there is an infant school on the A25 in Limpsfield and many children attempt to cross the A25 daily, to access the school. The traffic speed is significantly higher than is allowed but this has been a problem for years- the proposed new DPD depot will simply add to the existing problem. I would ask that the entire stretch of A25 through Oxted and Limpsfield be made a 30mph limit, along with several additional pedestrian crossings and speed cameras. And no extra DPD traffic full stop!

Dear Ms Parker, I would like to object strongly to the new planning application submitted to you for the Moorhouse tile site. The site is in an are of natural beauty where people have invested huge amounts on their properties to live. The scale is frankly inappropriate to the area and would make a blotch on the area. This and surrounding villages are fed with single lane roads which, on peak hours are pretty full already. Furthermore, when the M25 experiences problems, people use the A 25 as an alternative route grid locking roads from Oxted to Westerham and beyond. Furthermore, there are schools that are on the A 25 or fed off it. The increased traffic with HGV's is of a serious concern to those of us with children and to the elderly Increasing risks of accidents, increasing pollution and adding to the noise already experienced from the M25. Oxted appeals to young families moving into the area with their children's' safety and schooling in mind. I am afraid if the warehouse project is given consent, the appeal to Oxted and surrounding villages will be seriously affected. The roads in Tandridge are already in dire condition, HGV' will inevitably add to this. I have complained a number of times about traffic velocity on our road (Uvedale road, Oxted). With the above application people will increase use of roads such as these to avoid traffic making it no different to an inner city scenario. Absolutely not - A25 busy enough as it is. Would be detrimental to all except DPD.

As if we don't have enough traffic sandwiched between a25 and M25. No thank you.

I find it incredible that anyone would think this is a suitable site for such a development. The increased traffic alone is reason enough . The A25 is busy already . Mr P Sendall Parishcroft wood farm Limpsfield.

We live just off the A25 and have a new born baby. A dpd depot being built up the road from us would mean traffic noise greatly increased and with more traffic on the road make it more dangerous when we walk our child up to the pre school in due course which is situated on the A25 a few minutes from the Grasshopper.

I strongly oppose the plan for this site.

Too much traffic in this rural area as it is. Lorries often get stuck in the lanes and cause mayhem to other traffic when this happens. Take it else we're more suitable for the purpose.

As well as the risk to all users of the a25 (particularly the children crossing the road at the school my daughter used to go to - limpsfield infant school) the infrastructure will not be able to handle this increase in vehicles. The a25 is a car park at the best of times.

The A25 is already over used and unsuited to larger vehicles. And the air pollution is awful. Please use this site for something that won't create so much extra traffic and air/noise pollution

Road is busier enough

This proposal is ill thought through and would cause irreversible damage to villages in the local area.

NO NO NO - objection on the grounds of AONB, roads through Oxted, Westerham, Brasted would be gridlocked with heavy vehicles including owner-driver vans at site, noise, pollution causing the devaluation of surrounding private properties. There is no need for this type of development within this country area causing gross urbanising which is deplorable within an area of historical sites. Oxted, Brasted, Westerham and Sevenoaks cannot cope with this type of traffic which would also cause serious problems to the emergency services in times of need. At present the M 25 has problems with traffic already diverting on to the A25 at Junctions 5, 6 and 7 causing continual non-flow of traffic at various point - FORGET THIS NONSENSE AND LISTEN TO THE RESIDENTS!!!!
