Object to Weston View Green Space Development Plans Now

we don’t need more flat or building in here please

This is a significant loss of open space to the street, this is increasingly at a premium. A development with this scale and massing should be buffered from the road or it will be out of character

I strongly object to the planned works at weston view. This development will destroy a precious green space and it is not in keeping with the area, Furthermore, this will exacerbate the allready difficult parking situation. This application deserves proper scrutiny. Neighbouring Western View residents were not even informed despite this site being their informal open space

I object most strongly to this destructive and hazardous proposed development. It will, inter alia, eradicate a much used and appreciated recreational green space, which the local community, not unreasonably, could assume was safe from such depredation. This outrageous proposed scheme echoes the recent scandalous attempt to destroy another such much-loved and tended piece of flowered landscape at the junction of Cobden View Road.

My objections to the proposed development are outlined below. This development will destroy one of the very few remaining areas of green space adjacent to the main thoroughfare in Crookes. Moreover, and as admitted in the applicant’s own Planning Statement (PS sec 4.20), the Sheffield Unitary Development Plan (UDP) states that the overall site, of which this area is part, is allocated as Open Space. The UDP was approved by the elected representatives of the citizens of Sheffield. What is the use of such a plan if elements can be summarily dismissed? Further, though this particular area may be relatively small, it is most certainly not “highly unlikely to be valued by people in the locality.” (PS sec 4.23) As evidence contrary to this manifestly lightly researched and apparently self-serving statement, witness the vast number of relevant objections from members of the local community! There is also the issue of precedence. If the proposed development is approved – where next on this inviting Open Space? Finally the serious concerns expressed on the inevitable problems surrounding the construction process itself and consequent increased traffic hazards must be highlighted. The overall site is used extensively by young children (my own family members included) for formal and informal recreational purposes. Children, building work and significantly increased traffic are not a good fit.

I travel regularly within this area and have been struck by the lack of green space for community use. I think to lose any more would be unforgivable and I believe the planning application should be refused.

I used to live in this estate and love that green area where we played as kids and also used the path across it to get to the main road or bus stop. Say no to this hideous suggestion please!!!!!

I strongly object. This building is not within keeping to the character of the area. I am concern it will increase congestion, and place additional burden on the nearby streets. I fear, it will be another step towards developing all available green space nearby.

The planned development is unsightly and not in keeping with surrounding buildings. It will reduce the amount of public green space, which is sorely lacking in Crookes. I am very concerned about the lack of parking. Most households have two cars, this will inevitably lead to more parking on already crowded nearby streets. The apartments will overlook and block out natural light to nearby residences. I strongly object to the development.

This building is not in keeping with the area and lacks sufficient parking, which will exacerbate existing parking difficulties.

The construction would reduce shared green areas, and change access to Weston View, reducing safety and disturbing people living here, thus I’m completely against this construction. Juliana Flat 2 since Nov 2017.

This is very clearly a development driven by nothing but profit and not the needs of the local community. There are very few green spaces left in Crookes and the develoment of this site would clearly be detrimental to both local residents and wildlife. It's hard to believe they can even consider cramming so many dwellings on this small space

I object this development plan. As it is so essential to have a green space in front of the entrance to the estate. Possiblity of increased traffic is worrying even more. Nevertheless obviously will appear parking issues. Finally an increase in the pollution levels ( over the building period) is completely unnecessary especially in this time.

The design is poor - only 1 parking space per dwelling, only 1 secure cycle space per dwelling and a rear parking court which is against Sheffield Planning Guidance.
