Find another location as the existing property owners paid top dollar to get into this neighborhood and it is unfair for the developers to slide in a development that will reduce the desirability of this neighborhood. Especially by the fact that they have to drive by ut each and every day. Upper end apartments would be fine for that location. The owners are selling out the current residents, a classic case of bait and switch.

Apartments on a state highway, next to businesses, bad idea!!! We really need commercial property to stay and build some services in Star so we don't keep spending our money for services out of our area because we can't find what we need in Star.
No, NO, NO!!! We object!!!

I am strongly opposed to this project. Why would you feature this complex on the main road through town? And next to a gated community? Thoughtless planning if the goal is to build Star up and make it a desirable place to live.

This is bad for the city of Star and terrible for pinewood lakes. Makes no sense to put 36 apartments, not to mention its government housing, next to a daycare and an already very busy neighborhood.

Absolutely NO on this low income complex. This is NOT the type of growth we need in Star, nor the kind that the community of Star can support. (Is there even a need for this type of housing? or by building it, will the low income renters be enticed to come here?) AND proposing to build it next to a drug laboratory as well as a nice neighborhood? That would only invite CRIME. City council members, this is a crucial fork in the road for the growth of this fine community. Not only would it devalue the properties of those who have invested heavily into this community, (making Star the premier town that it is) it would create problems that don't exist now. Don't go down that road!!

I see no advantages for Pinewood Lakes home and/or property owners in the building of the proposed 36 low income units on the vacant lot just north of us. Doing so will lessen the appeal of and lower the property values of the residents who live here. In addition, the safety and security may be at some risk. I, therefore, am fully and totally opposed to this project.

these apartments are a very bad idea in the wrong location, they would very greatly degrade a great community that we have built, NOT HERE -NOT NOW, we are going to fight this tooth and we are going to hold those responsible if our community is degraded

Don't approve this project. This is not a good fit for Pinewood Lakes or Star in general.

Star does not have the transportation, outreach, school services and business/food services for more low income citizens. The apartments should be built to the specifications that are comparable with the homes in the area to help retain home values in the Pinewood Lake's area.

This type of project may be appropriate for the zoning, and it may only need an conditional variance type of assistance to come to pass, however this type of project has many predecessors thought out the valley. It does not take much to see those project where the same plan is followed, nice neighborhood built close by comes a project with the intention of being a nicer place. The truth is ALL developers want the lowest cost good put into the project to maximize the roi. That means substitutions on spec in many areas cheaping the overall package. This neighborhood went from a size minimum and very nice amenities ( should be three parks and two pools with cabana per each , see the old master plan) to the same park and two lots stolen from the hoa and sold to builders when the new developer came in and houses in the new phases that would not have been allowed, yet times changed and so did the quality and scope of this neighborhood. I have Been on the block for nine years now ( for two years I was the ONLY house on this block and seen much and fought like heck to keep my crew here. This development has always been zoned this way with commercial up front and housing at the back. The plan has always been to have some sort of commercial property up front, like a build it ( our homes) and they ( commercial investors) will come.
Well we have and they are,
This project proposal of tax rebates for rentals mixed with market rate rentals is not good for the pinewood lakes residents new and old who have collectively millions more invested here than what the development team wants to input for their gain.
I have been in the building industry for 20 years, and this project is not good for pinewood lakes.
