I feel very strongly that this will NOT improve Star. Have we asked the Star Police Dept what they think of this ? They will be the ones put under pressure to deal with the problems that will arise from this .
I agree that we are going to have house values go down .
Star is just now fixing up the town, and trying to make it shine, as we at Heron River cannot even afford to keep up or afford the Star River Park project, nor can the City of Star.
We need to look at the future of this quaint town, we do not approve of this
idea at all.

We already have low income housing in Star, directly behind Toon Town. We don't need any more. If they insist how about a 55 plus low income housing unit?.

An area that is closer to more infrastructure would be a better place. I see this as being a very bad idea all around with future problems.

I've submitted an email outlining 6 objections and concerns to the Star city planner. I have yet to receive an acknowledgement.

Do jobs that consider the cost of the commute come with this housing? I suggest caution on the approval of this suggestion. Will the developer be here with his family, after this little project is completed?

Just adding my voice to the cocophony below, regarding the development of the 36 unit apartment community to be built at 11735 W State Street, Star ID.
The city would be much better served by setting a long term plan. Looking forward to attracting commercial tennants to that area. Also setting some goals for future single family housing that will keep Star the kind of comunity we all chose to live in. Most of us moved away from areas that incorporated the kind of housing that is being proposed. Please do not approve this development!!

Star is so far away from employment that the people who live there won't be able to better themselves by getting a better paying job if they want to. I just spoke to a waitress in a restaurant in Eagle where that location is closing. She can't afford the gas to keep the job offered to her at the other location.

For me, this has everything to do with a lack of infrastructure in the City of Star, especially for low income families. Star needs to have more accommodations in place to help low income families.

Our community already has a low income development and cannot sustain another one. That property was zoned for commercial and that is something this community needs.

This is terrible idea and I can't imagine the influx of traffic on Highway 44 that will this will cause. In addition, this type of community will devalue the homes in the area of its location. These homes are finally recovering from the recession and now our city council and mayor are actually considering doing this to these homeowners? These are elected officials and should be considering the concerns of their constituents and not a developer or landowner. Shame on them! This shouldn't even be on their agenda as it will not benefit the community as a whole. Someone is benefitting from this deal and it is certainly not the community and especially the property owners surrounding the area. Also, have the city leaders even thought about the lack of infrastructure that Star currently has and how the elementary school is already over capacity? This type of housing project will certainly bring extra children to an overloaded school.

This is a huge financial strain on this community. We do not have the additional funds for more classes, teachers, busses, police, fire and ambulance care. The Mater Plan we all have seen before buying in our area consisted of offices for Dr's, dentist or little shops.
This will devalue our property and we still have not recoup the loss from the economy failure before.
NO LOW INCOME HOUSING!!!!!

I object to putting this complex on the main thoroughfare of Star. Our mayor and city council (elected public servants) cannot possibly think this is good for our town. Very short-sighted.

We definitely do not need this in the area of Star. Star is becoming a prominent little city and community that folks are moving into to raise their family. I think that location is bad because it will bring in and attract more riff raff and create more crime.
