Please keep this project out of Star. Low income housing does not belong out in the country where there are limited resources for the low income folks.

I don't think Star is ready for low income housing to be totally honest. I think Star needs to grow business wise before we talk about low income housing. How many low income families can afford to drive 10+ miles to and from work each day that pays just above minimum wage? Star doesn't have enough work in town to support them. I don't have a problem with low income housing but Star needs more job opportunities in Star to support those families. Plus the school seems to be over crowded as it is. Are they going to bus the little ones to another school? Off of New Hope Rd. it says future site of star elementary but no work is being done and then the future site of Star High School is far off I'm sure. With low income housing comes more children and Star can't support them either until we have more schools. Those are just a few things I can think of in why Star is not ready for low income housing.

Star does not have the infrastructure to support low income families. This would be better suited in an area where families can have easy access to employment.

This is not the correct area for this type of housing. There are better towns to build this. No to low income housing in Star.

Star does not have the imenities and ability to support low income housing. This is not a good fit for Star or people with lower incomes. We moved here 3 years ago and what we spend in gas driving to anything other than Star Elementary is expensive. It's not uncommon for us to spend nearly $500/month just on gas, and I try to consolidate trips as much as possible. We also have 4 teens who have not been able to find employment in Star. There aren't many places to work to begin with, but even the places here often don't hire high schools students. Which means more driving, more gas, or no jobs. It has been a financial strain on our family.

I am against this project for many reasons. We do not have services available for low income residents as it is now. And to put this type of housing in front of one of our premium subdivisions is an insult to those homeowners. And with 36 units that is the potential of 74 additional cars coming and going. And with no garages that could be unsightly.

Bringing in low cost housing will cause endless problems for the city of Star. First it will cause a financial drain on the city coffers. Taxes will increase. Secondly subsidized housing often houses people who subsidize their low income by committing crimes. Thefts and drug dealing will go up. Property values will go down due to Star being a dumping ground.

There are other very suitable locations in Star for a complex like this, on State St. With only two lanes for traffic, no left turn refuge, no sidewalks, this is about one of the most unsafe locations I can think of.
