I strongly oppose the proposed development. It eliminates the potential expansion of the tax base from commercial development and immediately devalues the residential properties in Pinewood Lakes.

I am totally opposed to this project. I agree with the comments made. Pinewood Lakes has been a model neighborhood for the direction the City needs to go moving forward. We don't need or want all other things that developments such as this bring such as increased crime,traffic, noise,drugs, etc. Does the City want this to be located on the west entry into town? We bought here with the assumption it would remain commercial property and no high density housing.

We just moved to Star from Eagle in June, and we were looking forward to retiring here in the home we built in the Pinewood Lakes subdivision. We chose Star because we wanted a small town atmosphere. To find out that this project is being proposed directly behind our home has filled us with anxiety. This project will devalue our home, increase traffic and noise, and increase crime. We pay HOA fees for our walking paths and parks. The residents of the new development will not. We did our due diligence prior to building our home. We expected a business to go in because that is what it is zoned for. We want our property values protected, and we expect the city of Star to act responsibly and help the homeowners of Pinewood Lakes do that by supporting us in opposing this project. This is NOT a good location for this project. The correct location would be a good fit for all parties. This development gives a win for the developers and a loss for the homeowners. I am strongly opposed to this project.

This is a bad idea and should be rejected. Low income housing devalues our property. Commercial property is for Star's growth not to be rezoned into HUD Housing for a GUARANTEED paycheck for some developer to house Idaho's alotment of refugees. I will sell before you break ground. One less retired LEO for Star.

Our community does not have the resources to support the needs of a low income community of this size. We do not have public transportation, rec centers, regular grocery stores ... Our community needs businesses that keep people & dollars in our community & help raise propert value not devalue our economy

There are many other locations available for this project, if indeed there is a need for low income apartments in Star. Federal and state subsidies may provide a continuing income stream to the developers.

If this apartment complex is built the value of the homes in Pinewood Lakes, including my home, will go down. I would not have purchased a home in Pinewood Lakes if I had known the property zoned commercial would have been changed to residential, especially government-subsidized residential.

If the proposed apartment complex had been there when we were looking for a house, we would not have bought in Pinewood Lakes. If we decide to sell our home and the apartments are allowed, the potential buyers will likely have the same opinion and home values will be forced downward. I strongly oppose this project.
