Oakley is an historic old village and should be allowed to remain so. This 'Manual for streets' is neither applicable nor wanted by those living here.

This part of Hill Road/Rectory Road is already a danger to walkers and traffic alike. Proper footpaths and Parking restrictions need to be provided is traffic is to significantly increase in this part of the village. Surely a better option to disperse the traffic from the village can be found. i.e. put another entrance- exit for the villageto the new buildings

Roads are already congested-why make it worse?

Ridiculous to narrow a road when there will be additional traffic!
It would be more sensible to widen the road or make alternative access arrangements.

Do not see the sense in adding to the existing congestion

This proposal has no merit especially with the high nos. of children going to & from school

the HCC highways proposal lacks any appreciation of pedestrian safety considerations especially in view of the proposed 180 house development nearby.

Will only aggravate the current traffic issues

This would significantly change the character of the conservation area of Oakley and create even more traffic problems along Rectory and Hill road.

If these are the highway works necessary it shows that the housing scheme is wrong for its location and the village.

The junction from Barn Lane to Hill Road is can be hazardous at the best of times with a limited line of sight of vehicles approaching from Hill Road. This ill conceived scheme will make things only worse.

A very poorly thought out proposal.

The amount of wildlife in the field that would be disrupted is scarry, the traffic in Barn Lane is already bad and the junction at the bottom already unsafe so adding extra traffic is a disaster waiting to happen.

The traffic in Barn Lane is bad enough and the junction at the bottom already so dangerous adding would undoubtedly end in up at least one accident.

This plan is nonsensical. It will make exit from Barn Lane even more difficult than it is now.

rediculus, already Hill road is becoming dificult to use due to the number of cars PARKED on it , this restriction could make it unbearable, especially as it encompasses a bus stop

Oakley residents chose to live further afield from Basingstoke to be further from congestion to find it is now being plonked on their doorstep. Is this necessary.
