I am in full support of backyard chickens. The positive aspects are many. One not mentioned often enough is that chickens eat a lot of mosquitoes! After reviewing Knoxville's specific, practical code restrictions concerning backyard chickens, I think the approach they have had in place for 5 years, if also adopted in Oak Ridge, would be adequate to protect the interests of neighbors and neighborhoods.

I love having chickens I just wish I didn't have to drive 30 minutes away to visit them on my parents farm.

Chickens in Oak Ridge is a great idea. I love the idea of being able to have the great benefits of these chickens.

I agree that the City of Oak Ridge should amend Chapter 10 Section 114 of the municipal code to allow residents to house up to six female hens within the city limits of Oak Ridge.

I am an Oak Ridge citizen and property owner. If you can feed birds in your back yard, why not a handful of chickens?
