Oak Parke was rezoned from Kiker and our neighborhood is the grassroots of Baranoff and started that school and made it the great school it is today! It isn’t fair just because we are a small neighborhood for AISD to keep pushing us around and especially to a significantly poor performing incomparable school across a dangerous busy street just to meet your numbers. Baranoff was not designed and built with a Pre-K program and the Pre-K at Baranoff was added many years later which has caused the overcrowding and is pushing Oak Parke out. Almost the exact number of Pre-K students at Baranoff is the number of Oak Parke students you are trying to rezone. That’s not right! And it isn’t right that AISD is adding all these Pre-K programs to schools that weren’t designed and built for a Pre-K program and adding large numbers of tuition based Pre-K just to make the district money all the while pushing children and families out of the schools and vertical team that took decades to build and cultivate those community bonds and friendships. And the district will save money not having to add portables. The two Open Houses Community Feedback Meetings should not have taken place in the summer when families are on vacation and they should have taken place at the beginning of the boundary change process (Dec/Jan) not 3 days before the BAC was to present their own final proposal to the Superintendent. Oak Parke has been unified, proactive and has continually brought solutions to the BAC Board from the beginning that we urge you strongly to consider. First Choice: Move the Pre-K at Baranoff to the new Southwest School and keep Oak Parke at Baranoff / the new Southwest School is being built to accommodate a Pre-K program whereas Baranoff was not. Second Choice: Choose Plan J and rezone Oak Parke to the new Southwest School as supported by this petition. Please hear our voices! Thank you.

Please keep the Oak Parke neighborhood at Baranoff Elementary or at the very least re-zone our children to the new SW elementary school. Our neighborhood has worked so hard to make Baranoff the fine school it is today. Please keep this in mind as you make your final decision.

AISD needs to be empathetic and rational when making such an important decision that not only impacts current residents but also will have a lifelong impact on future residents.

Aspen Creek Pkwy. Would much prefer my elementary-aged student to stay at Baranoff, where he started (the one his siblings attended, and to which my money and volunteer hours have gone). If my child must switch schools mid-elementary years, my preference would be to zone to the new SW Elementary School, rather than Kocurek, whose rating and programs do not meet the standards of his current school.

please do not send our children across busy streets of Slaughter or Mopac to go to elementary school. It’s dangerous. Also, our families have a history and sense of community at Baranoff. Our neighborhood has been a part of Baranoff’s student body and support system since it’s inception. It’s important to us that we focus on keeping our children safe and that we provide consistency for our children by not breaking up a community and families that are an integral part of Baranoff.

If we must be rezoned, please rezone Oak Parke to the new SW elementary. We purchased our home in Oak Parke because of the schools our children would attend. We live at 3625 Malone Dr. Thank you for your consideration.

I live on Idalia Drive in Oak Parke. I am supportive of our children going to the new SW elementary if they cannot stay in Baranoff. They should track to middle schools and Bowie with their classmates.

Prefer to stay at Baranoff, especially for already enrolled kids. Would support the rezone to the new SW school as a 2nd option.
