Nys grandfather law to individuals over 18 years old before 11/13/19

If I can die for my country at 18 I should be able to buy cigarettes

Its not fair to people that turned 18 before 11/13/2019

I've been smoking since I was 15 I work everyday 12 hours a day cigarettes are the only break I get.

I am a 19 year old started smoking when I was 18 it’s not right that I have to quit smoking now because of this new law.

How are u gonna addict someone for 2 years n then take it away???? How can u be 18 and sent off to WAR but cant smoke a cigarette?????

What are they gonna do about all the addicted 18+ that currently smoke

I feel as tho since I was 18 before this new law and able to buy tobacco products I am now addicted to cigarettes and can’t function properly without them and this new law is making my relationship with my girlfriend very difficult

You cant expect 18 19 and 20 year olds to quit Turkey with one of the most addictive products sold.

I believe that if someone can go and lose their life fighting for their country at 18 then they should be allowed to smoke.

Atleast for people with a military id

If you are old enough to serve in the military you are old enough to smoke

I agree that those who have been buying tobacco products before this law was passed should be able to continue doing so.

So just to get this clear, I'm 20 I pay my own bills have my own place work my ass off but yet I still can't buy cigarettes. But I can move out I can join the army but God forbid I buy a pack of smokes.

I feel if you are old enough to serve then you are old enough to be served.

I have been smoking a little before my 18th birthday. I became 18 March 15th of 2018. I've been discussing this idea amongst many friends and feel it would be best to eliminate any illegal sales and distribution to those below the age of 21. I, myself want to quit, but I'm not at that point yet where I'm ready to. Cutting me off completely to the substance won't help anyone at all, whereas allowing people a chance to actually decide to quit on their own within due time will help many immensely. You can’t stop those who are addicted cold turkey. Those who were 18 before and capable of buying should still be able to buy.
