Nys grandfather law to individuals over 18 years old before 11/13/19

I’m 19 years old. Before I turned 18, I got my own apartment, I graduted high school, I got my license and bought a car. If I can do all those things and be considered an adult at 18... why can’t I buy my own cigarettes?

The legal adult age is 18. We can’t buy alcohol and some other products as is. Why make it harder or make it semi like 18 isn’t the legal age to be an adult if that’s ALWAYS been the law for tobacco? This is unnecessary and is causing controversy.

I know vermont did the same there should be a grandfather law for people I've been legal for almost 3 years now

I’m about to be 20 years old and I shouldn’t have to wait another year to purchase something I’ve been purchasing since I was 18.

I agree its not fair to those who were already 18 before the law went in to place

I feel those who have already purchased tabacco and have become the slightest addicted to it should still be able to make there purchase we've all had our id scanned so you know who has and who hasn't ass someone who had bought packs of cigarettes and cigars for the last 2 years everyday now I'm no longer able for at least the next 8 months I can vote and join the military but I still have to ask my daddy to buy me a pack of cigarettes

It’s a shame that I can go fight for this country’s freedom & vote for 3 years now I have to wait a whole year to be able to buy cigarettes

I personally thought tobacco users over the age of 18 should have been grandfathered when the law had passed. This law does not change anything if someone wants tobacco they will find a way to obtain it.

Yeah this is bullcrap I finally am able to buy them and then you guys change them on me what are you trying to get people to brake the law

This Grandfather Law should take affect immediately. Should’ve been done as soon as the laws had changed.
