I believe that it should be 18 still because of you can go fight for our country I think you can go have some tobacco if you want

I seriously think it is unfair to not include this when changing somthing. I can go into the army and die for this country but I can go into a store a buy a pack of smokes, I know smoking is a bad habit but if y’all spent more time on not promoting it then maybe people wouldn’t smoke as much but blaming 18 year olds bc little kids get smokes changes nothing at all the only thing it changes is who gets them there smokes I’m 20 years old and I’ve been smoking for 4 years now y’all are just going to take that away from me I’ve lost 5 family members in a year and I don’t plan on quitting or putting my smoke out bc there is somome tellin me I can smoke

How can you go serve for your country and put your life on the line but can’t go buy a pack of smokes?

The law should have grandfathered in anyone over the age of 18 prior to the date the law took action

We have learned as a community that addiction is a real disease, a medical condition. That includes nicotine, and while people should be working to quit, it’s not fair for society to decide to rip away access to kids who are 18, 19, and even 20 who may have been smoking for 1-3+ Years already legally. The drinking law grandfathered in people when it changed, how is this any different?

This new law is stupid. Atleast make people who were already of age able to purchase goods again. Very unfairNew York. Very unfair..

Come on NY, be like Texas. Grandfather those who just recently turned 18 or older in.

I have been smoking since I legally turned 18 and find it unfair to the individuals it effects that now I cannot buy tobacco even though I’ve been legal age for almost 2 years now.

I am 18 and able to serve in the US military. But I can’t buy a freaking pack of cigarettes. What is wrong with NY legislation. You need to grandfather people in who were 18 before the law was passed.

Our rights to purchase tobacco has been revoked. It just doesn’t make any sense. Still not going to stop me and many many others from purchasing tobacco.
