I totally get that it's been a horrible winter. And I get that it can't be completely fixed right now because it's too cold. But can't there be some cold patching going on the last couple of days?! I'm honestly worried one of these mornings I'm going to get pulled over because the cops are going to think I'm drunk, but I'm just swerving to miss all the potholes!

Rt 39 between Arcade and Yorkshire is a disgrace and a hazzard! DOT officials advise RT 39 is not considered a main arterial - really?! So NYS DOT doesn't put in the same effort/thought/$$ into this area of highway because we are rural? really ? Isn't that a form of discrimination ? Are we not paying taxes just like everyone else ? The State has $$ don't be fooled!

Rediculous that a road that was just torn up and redone is in such wretched condition.

I won't even drive thru the Village if at all possible. I shouldn't have to drive out of my way or back roads. Because I was dodging potholes last year (when they weren't quite as bad) a State Trooper pulled me over for "drunk driving"! I was quickly "let go" when he saw that was absolutely not the case. This year, I started out dodging them (go ahead - pull me over again!) But I have given up - there's no dodging left to do!!!

Stop diverting money from the dedicated highway fund! Fix our roads and bridges!

The horrible road conditions stem back to the substandard repairs that were performed several years ago. NYS cheaped out on the job due to the disaster on the Rt. 219 extension project.(Also 219 from Boston to Springville suffered the same cheap repair/resurface job that was junk from the start. Total mess right now) No one expects the road to be fixed tomorrow. It just needs to be re-built properly over the construction season so it doesn't completely come apart again in a few short years.

Name calling?? Whatever. Petitions take time anonymous one..maybe the appropriate dept that receives such Petitions is prioritizing projects for the upcoming season and formulating a budget now...just saying

This road is a disgrace. Repave immidiatly. Set the lanes correctly back to 4 lane to reduce unnecisarry traffic delays. We've gone backwards... Enough, time to move forward. It is a safety hazard in its current condition. Lane reductions were an ignorant solution.

i live on Main Street (Rt 39) and i work at Pioneer Central School....this is 2014...why is NYSDOT using 1950's technology and better yet-Materials?! Start from the Beginning....from the bare bones and Build a Better Road already!)

This state route through the middle of our village has lots of truck (as in semis) traffic. The potholes are so frequent that it's not possible to dodge them. We deserve better than this for our taxes.

This road is a disgrace considering it was just done. The crew that did the job knew they were doing a substandard job at the redo & just said they would just have to do again in a few years. Very poor business practice on our states part. By bidding these jobs to the lowest bidder with no recourse when the job done stinks. If the state is not going to take responsibilty they should go after the original contractor & they also should never be given another state job again. It is time for the state to own up the their part in this whole situation. Those of us who live and work in this area are suffering because of their irresponsible actions. They say this road is not a "major" road but it is a major pass through for large trucks going east and west and also traveling south to catch the 86. A simple look at a map would easily explain this to anyone caring to look.
