The school board voted in our favor and the auditorium will officially bear Donna Nylander's name. It has been a long road to get here but I am grateful we managed to honor her legacy properly. Keep an eye out for the dedication ceremony details soon.

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the Ellensburg School Board name the newly renovated auditorium at Morgan Middle School after community arts leader and legend Donna Nylander. Her selfless and relentless devotion to the arts in our community, and children's involvement in them in particular, more than merits this honor and recognition.

Seeing this momentum grow has been the only thing keeping me going through these long weeks of advocacy. It is a relief to know that so many people understand why Donna deserves this legacy.

Donna is so important to the vibrancy of Ellensburg's arts community, to so many children and their families, including mine - I've always considered her like a third grandma. This would be a magnificent honor for a magnificent woman.
She was a wonderful director for community plays in Ellensburg . When we lived there our children benefited not only by her instructions on acting but also the life lessons she taught them. Especially how to treat others.
Donna Nyla dear gave my shy little boy confedance. He was in her play Children's Spring. He is now 33 and still talks about it. She has made a lasting impretion on many children.
Donna was my first theatre teacher, and the first person to see that I, at a very young age, had potential on stage. SO MUCH of what I achieved later in life in regards to theatre is still directly related to Donna's beliefs.
I had the pleasure of being one of the many children who benefited from Donna's tutelage, guidance, and mentoring through her work in community theater. This is the least that the community can do to honor her career and life of service to the residents of Kittitas County.
Donna is an amazing woman who is a hero to many in Ellensburg! She helped so many youth!
I can't think of a better name to be placed on Morgan Middle School's auditorium.
