Why try to instill fear of rabies in bats. More people contract rabies from dog bites than they do with bats. You also have a better chance of getting bit by a shark than contracting rabies from a bat. I’m very disappointed in you. This is truly “fake news”

Bats are a critical part of the ecosystem, both as pollinators and for insect control. The NY Times (I am a subscriber) should educate, not demonize! I’ve been bitten by dogs, never by a bat! Please correct your misleading article.
