Signed before, but, a comment... is it No Violence in the Name of Religion, or is it a petition for No Violence "against innocent people" in the Name of Religion... two different statements.

Again.. the word "innocent" is what I question... who decides who is innocent and what standard is being used to determine this? Is it a legal or religious standard? Huge difference. It needs to be clarified so that we know what we are agreeing to and signing. On the flip side, are they saying it is okay to commit acts of violence against non-innocents? I don't buy into that either.... bad, bad, bad... stop all of this hugging and read between the lines.

I will NOT sign this petition. The way it is worded is with cleaver semantics. They promise Not to promote or commit acts of violence against "any innocent human being". What does that really mean? Honestly, many Muslims feel that all non-believers are not innocent. This petition needs to be rewritten or it is a clear indication of their deception and true intent.

Violence has no place in a civilized world. To use one's religious beliefs to justify violence is simply an excuse by those who desire to commit violence for its own sake. Whatever our beliefs or lack of beliefs peace is essential for the well-being of all. Peace and acceptance of each other are a matter of survival for everyone.

We, as humans, what we do not understand, we MISUNDERSTAND.
In these times of fear, chaos, & atrocities to one another, let us pray to our God that He many instill upon us that we are ALL just people living together, apart, but yet sharing all the same emotions of fear, grief, laughter & joy. May NO VIOLENCE break down the barriers of cultures, so we can all share the common feeling of peace toward our neighbors, whether next door or
miles away. UNDERSTANDING, & the willingness to do such, can break the barriers.....we all are flesh & blood, & NO VIOLENCE is the true path to the goal of one-to-one Peace.
