Violence is in the root of religions that I have learnt through experience. Religious person must condemn the violence inside their own religion to weaken the root or violence. Violence in any format is unacceptable.

Violence in the name of humanity, especially by powerful nation states also stand condemned. Distortion, conflation, lies, and maiming of the ideals of any religion are demonic. A Condemnation of Blackness, Hispanicness, or Muslimness, etc using Statistics that lie (see Tukufu Zuberi) is scandalous.

When violent perpetrators want to induce fear, hate, and scorn we all must unite, reject violence in the name of religion, and increase our efforts as faith communities and people of principles to hold ourselves to live up to our professed ideals as practitioners of our respective and constitutionally protected faiths.

I spent six years living and working in Kenya, some of that time assisting in the resettlement of primarily Muslim refugees to the United States. I am deeply committed and know our neighborhoods and communities are better when we Embrace all of our diversity, including our religious diversity.
