The administration just confirmed that the Kimball lockers are being returned to us for student use. My back already feels lighter knowing we wont have to haul those textbooks around anymore. Thank you for pushing for this change until they finally listened.
I am writing in respectful appeal that the lockers located on the basement and sub-basement floors of Kimball Hall (246 Greene Street), currently being used as "lab coat holders," be reinstituted as "student lockers".
In the past, these lockers served as a cost-effective and convenient medium for the busy Nursing Students at the College to store his/her belongings (i.e. heavy textbooks, clothing, bags, personal items, etc.) in between frequent commute to classes, clinical/lab, and other on- and off-campus events.
As Students and Clients of NYU College of Nursing, we kindly request that you please reconsider the current employment of the Kimball Hall lockers, and understand that, from our perspective, these could be put to more efficient and resourceful use by our Students.
I have been hearing from so many of you about the back pain and exhaustion that comes from hauling these heavy nursing textbooks across campus every single day. I am currently reaching out to the building administrators to explain that these lockers are a necessity for our physical well-being rather than just a convenience. Your stories are giving me the leverage I need to keep pushing for this change.

Seeing this much support for the locker situation at Kimball Hall confirms that I am not the only one struggling to haul heavy books across campus all day. It feels like the administration might finally have to acknowledge how much we need this basic space back.

Ridiculous that lab coats get more space than actual human students. Give us our storage space back.

Change it back. Students should come first over some old lab coats.
