NURA - 110919 - 47 Fairfield Road Objection

As treasurer of Uxbridge and District Conservative Club I ma concerned about the increased traffic flow at what is already a hazardous area with difficult junctions. I ma also concerned that the ast time approval was given for the erction of flats on a site very near to t5he club there were complaints of noise form the club which were unfounded and the noise originated from a neighbouring house. We have been functioning on this site for Over 40 years and we would not wish to see our situation jepoardised.

This is a beautiful example of vernacular 30s architecture in a CONSERVATION area so why is it not being conserved!

Destroying family homes in a conversation area for yet more flats is an unconscionable act of vandalism.

I strongly object to the proposal of 47 Fairfield Road and agree with the the comments made by the residents. Demolishing good homes for new flats is destroying the area.

It is a dangerous proposal and this needs to be first prioritised over anything else My mother received notification only yesterday through the door. What has taken so long to get these letters to residents ?

I object to the proposed development

I would like to object to the above planning application on the basis of a number of points: 1)building 6 properties on a corner plot and a busy junction will be detrimental to health and safely especially children attending Hermitage school at Belmont Road. 2) Parking is already a big problem in Fairfield road, and this addition of properties with insufficient parking provision, will inevitably aggravate the situation. 3) The elevation and flat roof of the proposed building do not match surrounding properties and unrelated to the style of houses and it sticks out as a soar thumb 4) last but not least, a 3-story building next to my house will have a big impact on my family's privacy as it will be overlooking our garden from the top floor. I think this plan is driven by greed to maximise profit without any regards to the residents of Fairfield Road and Harefield Road.

I support the petition and strongly object the proposal to knock down the lovely house at 47 Fairfield Road and develop the plot into flats. The unsightly block of flats is not in keeping with the neighbourhood, poses a driving hazard, will lead to congestion in this residential area and block sunlight to several neighbours. The development will have a significant negative impact on the area and put stress on local services.

Does This quiet residential road need yet another block of flats..only to line the pockets of somebody living in Farnborough..A dangerous blind bend and on a junction to a major artery road to uxbridge .No considerations to the neighbour's and infrastructure of the community..

I would like to object to the above planning application as it seems to breach Hillingdon’s Development Plan Built Environment Policies BE1, BE5, BE13, BE19 and BE21. • Fairfield Road is an Area of Special Local Character and the bulk of the proposed development results in a disproportionate addition that does not match the architectural composition of the current building and would be detrimental to the North Uxbridge Area of Special Local Character. o Materials used are inconsistent with the existing houses at this end of Fairfield Road. o Flat roofs are not a traditional feature of the local street scene o The silhouette of the current property is significantly different and the bulk of the proposed development is detrimental to the existing street scene o The proposal would give rise to an unacceptable level of flatted development sites in close proximity to one another • Onsite parking provision (3 bays for 6 3-bedroomed flats) is inadequate and would lead to overparking on the street. Whilst a daytime parking study was made by the applicants, no submission was made regarding evening parking. All parking bays are already used in the evening as Harefield Road residents make use of the safer, more secure bays in Fairfield Road. This development would add to overparking in Fairfield Road, reducing safety.

I strongly oppose the development of 47 Fairfield Road. To cram more flats into an already over populated area is pure greed on the developers part who I might add does not live in this area so has zero care for the residents. The proposed site is on a blind spot which adds all kinds of extra dangers with increased traffic especially to the young children who attend Hermitage School at the top of Fairfield Road. With already limited parking the proposed build of 6 flats will add extra strain onto local residents especially when taking into account visitors to the flats.

Object to removal of a perfectly good house just for profit. It is not in keeping with the area. The street has already lost lots of individual homes for flats. The house is in the area where it is meant to be much harder to demolish house and build flats.

I STRONGLY OPPOSE THE PROPOSAL FOR 47 FAIRFIELD ROAD. THIS DEVELOPMENT IS NOT ONLY UNSIGHTLY, NOT IN KEEPING WITH THE STYLE AND THE STANDARD OF THE STREET BUT IT WILL ADD CONGESTION, RISK OF ACCIDENT (FOR CARS, BUSES AND PEDESTRIANS ALIKE) AND NEGATIVELY IMPACT THE VALUE, LOOK AND FEEL OF FAIRFIELD ROAD. THIS ROAD IS ALREADY PACKED WITH OTHER DEVELOPMENTS AND A PROPOSED PLAN FOR A SITE WHERE THE OWNER HAS NOT LIVED A DAY AND WANTS TO KNOCK DOWN A CHARMING HOUSE TO SELL OFF FLATS FOR A QUICK-BUCK IS DEVASTATING TO THE RESIDENTS THAT HAVE MADE HAPPY HOMES HERE FOR MANY YEARS.

It will put stress on our local services which are already strained and will cause added traffic and reduce parking spaces in the area.

I support this petition in objection to this proposal for all the reasons already outlined by the other residents

Proposal strongly opposed. It is not in keeping with the neighbourhood and has no endearing features whatsoever. The development plans are overbearing and will have a significant detrimental impact on the area
