I wish to state my objection to this proposed development and I am in agreement with all the comments that have already been submitted

I strongly oppose this proposal for all the reaons given by my husband Dr A R Lieberman in his response.

I strong object to the planned development

I strongly oppose this proposal. The proposed block is unattractive, and will not be in keeping with the character of the area and will further contribute to overdevelopment of this road. Furthermore, it will be located at one of the most notoriously dangerous junctions in the area, that of Fairfield Road with Harefield Road. Also, because there will be provision of only 3 parking spaces, the vehicles of the residents in the six 3-bedroom flats, and their visitors, likely to number in excess of 20 at any one time, will be thrown onto the meagre residents parking provision in and around Fairfield Road. This development will have a negative impact on the area.

I support this petition for all the reasons already outlined by the other residents concerns.

I object to this particular proposed development plan for the following reasons. Firstly, in the “Planning, Design and Access Statement” under the “Character and Design (item c) section on page 7, it is claimed:- (The proposal is) “sympathetic to local character and history, including the surrounding built environment”; my emphasis. However, I contend that this is an unsustainable claim. In the above document, on page 9, under “Examples of flats developments along Fairfield Road are provided below”, it seeks to make favourable comparisons between the proposed development of 47 Farefield Road and other more recent developments in the road. As is patently obvious, the 3rd floor accommodation of ALL the comparison developments are contained within a PITCHED roof, which is NOT the case with the proposed plan for 47 Farefield Road. It is also the case that much of the more mature properties in the locality have pitched roofs. It is this fundamental point on which I raise my objection, as the character of the area WOULD be affected by the elevations of this proposed plan. Secondly, as the parking provision within the footprint of the development are very limited; given the number of dwellings. In considering any development for this site, it may be a helpful suggestion to re-designate the “Business” parking bays either side of the road outside 47 Farefield Road to ‘Residents Permit” bays. These bays are VERY rarely used for the present purpose posted and, therefore, a waste of useful parking space.

There are too many blocs of flats in Fairfield Road already. Turning from Harefield Road into Fairfield Road is already dangerous.

Out of character with existing properties. Vehicle parking needs underestimated IMHO. Yet another 'squeeze 'em in and let 'em walk' proposal ... nothing good to be said about it.

Yet again, it seems that developers have no concerns regarding the lack of provision of adequate parking.

Does this proposed development not exceed the allowable percentage of new to old in Fairfield Road? This is a large development out of scale with the rest of the street. I am in total agreement with all the comments made by the other petitioners. We don't need yet another development in this area.

Services, traffic and parking are already under pressure in Uxbridge. Building more new flats will only compound the issue. It will also ruin the feel and look of the area.

The character of one of North Uxbridge' s finest roads will be destroyed. I strongly object to this application. Parking is already difficult in the area. Developers out to make a fast buck. Please protect North Uxbridge from over development. Look what has happened to character of Cambridge Road. STOP.

No parking provided in an area of North Uxbridge where there's already a shortage of parking spaces for residents with parking permits.

This particular development will increase what is fast becoming an overpopulated area, notably due to the large new residential block at the end of Harefield Road and a further development taking place on the site of the former Abrook Arms. The site is also on a particularly dangerous road junction where Fairfield and Harefield Road meet and to have a development with such close vehicular access to this junction will exacerbate the issues at that junction. Despite the detailed design proposals the building will not match the streetscape in any way whatsoever and that its foot print will be incongruous. There is also a concern that 6, 3 bedroom dwellings are likely to have a requirement for more than the three proposed parking spaces and that this will put a further strain on what is already an overstretched residents on street parking provision. There will be a massive impact on neighbouring properties in terms of loss of privacy, increased noise and disturbance.
