This proposed development does nothing for and is not in keeping with the visible street scene. A development of this sort at the junction of a busy main road and a busy link road from one side of Uxbridge (Belmont Road) will only add to the problematical junction of Fairfield and Harefield Roads. The profile of Harefield Road (It curves in to the detached house just up from Fairfield Road) and the high bulky hedging that overlaps the narrow footpath gives obscured view of the oncoming traffic travelling towards Uxbridge on Harefield Road.
The proposal is also a drastic overdevelopment of the corner site and due to its density of occupation will result in a much higher demand for on street parking in the area.
The quoted appeal in another part of the borough is laughable as it bears no reflection on this application and its surroundings.
The LBH has guidelines regarding the density of flatted development in domestic residential areas which lead to a drop of in development in this road.
This development offers nothing to the area of Fairfield Road and also would be much higher than the surrounding properties on Harefield Road which could lead to an overbearing feeling to the local respective properties.

This road has had its character changed substantially by the numerous flatted developments allowed in this road.
The LBH introduced development guidelines to control the amount of flatted development. This application contravenes these guidelines. The proposal is an overdevelopment of the site and is totally totally out of character with the existing visible street scene.
It would also exacerbate the parking problems in this area of Uxbridge.

This is an unnecessary development at an already dangerous junction. The area is already over-developed and the development would increase pressure on local infrastructure, already more than overstretched,

We object the planning application for 6 flats. The house should remain. It is a clear case of profit before people. There will be chaos, mayhem and madness if yet another development goes ahead with limited space and parking in an already congested area.

Once again we see someone wanting to push to beyond what is acceptable for those living in Fairfield Road and those living in the area. I have seen on numerous occasions instances where an individual/company gains planning permission for one thing and then goes back to planning to increase the number and size of the development. We do not need anymore flats in Fairfield Road.
The size an bulk of it is out of keeping and there would be insufficient parking.
This is supposedly an area of special local character. Why on earth is it being allowed to be diminished?

More high density housing in an area already pushed to the limit is unacceptable. An unnecessary, unsightly and regrettable mistake if permission is granted.

Parking already limited, would mean no visitors allowed to the surrounding houses. The flats would be imposing to the area, as they are already higher than the houses on Harefield Road. For a school route, make an already busy road extremely busier.

The area is too built up already with little parking. Public services such as GP surgeries are currently bursting at the seams. I also agree with others that this is a dangerous junction.

Beautiful homes are being demolished, Why!! We don't need more flats in Fairfield Road, which will yet again put a strain on our local parking, schools and doctors!

Not enough car parking for 6 x 3 bedroom flats. 3 story building in the style of a mini tower is not matching the other properties in the road.

I strongly oppose the proposed development for the same reasons my neighbours have raised. The development is unsightly, causes a driving risk on a dangerous corner and will block the sunlight to neighbours. Increasing the number of residents in this already developed area will put a strain on local services and increase congestion.

I support the 24/7 re-opening of the much needed front desk at Uxbridge Police Station. This purpose built facility in an excellent location is absolutely essential to enable the police to do their job well and efficiently in this area.
