They campaigned vigorously against the GST and therefore had more than enough time to develop their own alternatives or wisely embrace the sound cost saving and economic growth alternatives offered them by persons in the business community. Thus to show up in the HOA with nothing but GST and engage unprecedented measures to force it through are deeply disturbing.

Why not charge half the GST rate in July, and increase it two years later. Otherwise you will ruin too many businesses. Do you not remember Hurricane Irma and Covid? You are a small island. Act accordingly. Ann

Now is not the time to impose taxes on Anguillians. Find other ways to spend less and use the money generated by current tourism until things improve for the island.

Friday night I was so elated and proud of our young people, namely: Dee Ann Kentish-Rogers; Jose Vanterpool and Kyle Hodge. Their presentations and tenacity certainly gave me hope for us Anguillans, finally I thought that, there goes the genes and spirit of of 1967. Yes i was indeed happy, BUT less than 24 hours, the sudden actions of Ms. Kentish-Rogers and Mr. Hodge has left me flabberghasted. Where are we going as a people some 54 years after the Revolution? Who can we trust? Today, is Emancipation Day, are we truly free as a people or are the fetters still firmly attached????
