No GST at a time when businesses are just beginning to see some glimmer of daylight after a dreadful 2020. We simply cannot take on a tax that would increase our operational cost as this GST requires investments in highly specialized areas i.e Accounting and IT to meet the reporting obligations. To beleive we can pass on these additional cost to consumers would be seriously out of touch with current reality.

This tax will place a strain on small business that will force them to close. The only option they will have is to work for the major foreign companies at a salary of their choosing. Those with the opportunity will leave Anguilla for more attractive markets. Further, higher costs in every part of every day life will force more poverty on an already depressed economy.

I hope that the governor will do the right thing. The right thing is not always the easy thing but it matters. Now more than ever. This world needs more individuals that stand up for what is right. The majority of the people do not want the GST and Anguilla is a democratic governmental system and that system needs to be protected from those persons that wish to destroy the very fabric of democracy. So May God grant you the wisdom and grace to do the right thing. I am keeping the faith. Thank you

I have no with some form of taxation like sales tax but GST in its current form will not work

We have a business and have invested everything we have back into this economy and we are very distraught that this is being done with such disregard for what the people (majority) want. I would like to say to the governor that you will be judged by the decisions you make and I pray that God gives you the strength to do the right thing. Thank you for this opportunity to voice our opinions. Now lets hope those in power will honor our wishes
