General Electric, the company that destroyed the Hudson River with PCBs, has applied to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission to extend its permit to assemble low enriched uranium fuel bundles (LEU). Due process has not been followed. They have posted information in such a way that requests to submit responses come after the deadline. Community response is thus squelched. We urge that the CNSC postpone licensing approval until a thorough and transparent consultation process has occured and independent third party studies conclusively state that there are no health and safety risks involved in the uranium processing operations of GE-Hitachi Peterborough.

The lack of transparency is what scares me the most. Stop the permit now.

GE has a terrible track record. Why would we trust them with this? Keep our water and air clean please.
